The Chicago Bears ''are transitioning into a run-heavy team with the outside zone,'' Adam Jahns of The Athletic reports.
Huddle Up: The Bears' top back, David Montgomery, averaged 20.5 touches and 17.3 carries per contest over 13 games last season.. He'll be a high-end RB2 with RB1 upside. Khalil Herbert remains Montgomery's handcuff.

Chicago Bears RB Khalil Herbert rushed twice for 21 yards and a touchdown in Week 16 against the Seattle Seahawks while posting a catch for seven yards on his only target.
Huddle Up: Herbert looks like he has a bright future, as he has shown some glimpses of brilliance when given the chance. However, in redraft leagues he has limited fantasy appeal as long as David Montgomery is healthy.

Chicago Bears RB Khalil Herbert posted three grabs for 34 yards on four targets in Week 15 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Huddle Up: Herbert didn't have any carries, but he showed his pass-catching ability out of the backfield. He could be a useful fantasy option in 2022 depending on draft picks, personnel adds and deletions, etc. If he has a big role, he might be a mid- to late-round fantasy pick on draft day.

Chicago Bears RB Khalil Herbert rushed one time for no gain in Week 11 against the Baltimore Ravens and he was not targeted in the pass game.
Huddle Up: Herbert was a tremendous fantasy asset when David Montgomery was sidelined, but he is an afterthought in the past two games with the starter back. The rookie can be left to the waiver wire outside of deeper fantasy leagues, and he should be kept around as a handcuff for Montgomery.

Chicago Bears RB Khalil Herbert rushed four times for 13 yards in Week 9 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and he was not targeted in the pass game.
Huddle Up: Herbert is back to reserve status with David Montgomery back from a long-term knee injury. With the Bears facing a bye in Week 10, the rookie can be dropped from most fantasy rosters now that Montgomery has returned. Keep him as a handcuff if you also have Montgomery on your roster, however.

Chicago Bears RB Khalil Herbert rushed 23 times for 72 yards and lost four yards on two receptions in a 33-22 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 8.
Huddle Up: Although Herbert didn't find a ton of running room, he did manage to top 70 rushing yards for his fourth consecutive game. Perhaps more importantly, he logged at least 18 carries for the fourth straight game and topped 20 total touches for the third game in a row. Until David Montgomery returns, Herbert is at least a volume-based flex play.

Chicago Bears RB Khalil Herbert rushed 18 times for 100 yards in Week 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers while posting five receptions for 33 yards on his five targets.
Huddle Up: Herbert has been a bright spot across the past two games. Even with Damien Williams back from the COVID list, it was Herbert totaling 23 backfield touches to just four for Williams. If that touch distribution continues, Herbert would be a sneaky low-end RB2 or flex play, at least until David Montgomery return. The Bears host the 49ers in Week 8.

Chicago Bears RB Khalil Herbert (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 22, and is not on the injury report for Week 7.
Huddle Up: Herbert in on track for his second consecutive start and is coming off a terrific Week 6 performance. He can be considered a No. 2 running back or flex option in leagues.

Chicago Bears RB Khalil Herbert (shoulder) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 21.
Huddle Up: Herbert will receive another start if Damien Williams is not cleared to return from the COVID-19 list. He played very well in his first start and would be a No. 2 running back or flex option if he receives most of the work at running back.

Huddle Up: Herbert had an outstanding Week 6 performance with 97 rushing yards and one touchdown. He likely will receive another start this week if Damien Williams is not cleared. He would be a No. 2 running back or flex option if he starts.
