Chicago Bears RB Khalil Herbert (hip) was activated from the Reserve/Injured list Friday, Dec. 23.
Huddle Up: Herbert is expected to see his first action since injuring his hip in Week 10. To what degree he will be involved after a long layoff is another question, but the odds are the Bears will rely heavily on the running game during what is expected to be a very wintry day in Chicago. Expect Herbert to push for at least 10 touches and serve as a capable flex option in Week 16.

Chicago Bears RB Khalil Herbert (hip) will be activated from the Reserve/Injured list Friday, Dec. 23, according to head coach Matt Eberflus.
Huddle Up: Herbert likely will serve as the main backup to David Montgomery moving forward. He probably will see a few touches each game but can be avoided most weeks.

Chicago Bears RB Khalil Herbert (hip) was designated to return from IR Tuesday, Dec. 20.
Huddle Up: If he's able to return, he'd split the work with David Montgomery and be no less than a great flex candidate.

Chicago Bears RB Khalil Herbert (hip) will be activated from the Reserve/Injured list and return to practice this week, according to head coach Matt Eberflus.
Huddle Up: Herbert has not played since Week 9, so it is possible he will be eased into action against the Buffalo Bills. With that said, he was regularly handling at least 10 carries per game before going down. Herbert should be viewed as a volatile but high-upside flex option if he plays this week.

Chicago Bears RB Khalil Herbert (hip) is expected to be designated for return from the Reserve/Injured list following the team's Week 15 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to head coach Matt Eberflus. "He's getting ready to go. He's been hitting his max speeds. His jumps look good, and the power in his legs look great. So, we're excited about that," Eberflus said.
Huddle Up: It appears as if David Montgomery's run as a featured back is ending soon. Herbert has not played since Week 9 but was regularly handling at least 10 carries per game before going down. Montgomery is still the better fantasy play of the two and can be treated as a low-end RB2 if Herbert plays in Week 16 against the Buffalo Bills. Herbert can be treated as a high-upside flex.

Chicago Bears RB Khalil Herbert (hip) could return from the Reserve/Injured list in time to play in Week 16 against the Buffalo Bills, according to head coach Matt Eberflus.
Huddle Up: The Bears host the Bills in Week 16, which could mean a heavy dose of the running game in what should be a cold and perhaps snowy day at Soldier Field. Obviously, just because the goal is for Herbert to be ready for that game doesn't mean it will happen. If he returns for that game, fantasy managers should expect him to return to handle his usual 10-plus touches behind David Montgomery. Managers are advised to make sure he was not dropped following his Week 10 hip injury.

The Chicago Bears are optimistic that RB Khalil Herbert (hip) will return from the Reserve/Injured list before the end of the season, according to ESPN's Courtney Cronin. Herbert will miss a minimum of four games, meaning he'll be eligible to return in Week 16.
Huddle Up: Going on IR this late means Herbert will appear in a maximum of three games, and with many fantasy leagues wrapping up before Week 18, that effectively means he could contribute twice more the rest of the year. You can hold onto him if you have the roster space, but it's not a priority.
