San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy (elbow) is still expected to sign a long-term contract extension during the offseason despite his season-ending elbow injury, which is considered minor, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Huddle Up: The 25-year-old Purdy will finish the season with 3,864 passing yards, 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions over 15 games, along with five rushing touchdowns and 323 rushing yards. When healthy, he is best served as a high-end QB2 option in fantasy leagues. QB Joshua Dobbs will be under center for the 49ers' regular-season finale versus the Arizona Cardinals but can be avoided in all fantasy leagues.

San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy (elbow) did not practice Wednesday, Jan. 1.
Huddle Up: Purdy has already been ruled out for the season finale with an elbow injury, so it was no surprise that he didn't practice Wednesday.

San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy (elbow) will not play in Week 18, head coach Kyle Shanahan said on Wednesday, Jan. 1. QB Josh Dobbs will start in Purdy's place.

San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy (elbow) was diagnosed with a right elbow bruise and some nerve inflammation on Tuesday, Dec. 31. While he will likely not play in Week 18 against the Arizona Cardinals, he did not suffer any long-term damage.
Huddle Up: Fans of Purdy and the 49ers had reason to suspect the worst when Purdy told reporters after the game that it felt like his "arm was on fire." However, this sounds like it will be a non-issue relatively soon and should not affect his contract extension talks this winter and/or spring. Joshua Dobbs will likely get the nod over Brandon Allen to start in the season finale and should be considered a viable QB2 option in two-quarterback leagues.

Updating a previous report, San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy (elbow) is dealing with a nerve issue in his elbow and is set to undergo more testing on Tuesday, Dec. 31, to determine the severity, head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed on Monday, Dec. 30.
Huddle Up: Purdy suffered the injury late in the fourth quarter after posting big numbers against the Detroit Lions that were marred by a pair of interceptions. With nothing to play for in Week 18, it's likely Purdy will sit out. If so, Joshua Dobbs will take the reins but isn't a suggested lineup option.

San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy (undisclosed) completed 27 of 35 passes for 377 yards and three touchdowns to two picks while adding three carries for 12 yards and another touchdown in the Week 17 loss to the Detroit Lions on Monday, Dec. 30. He also exited the game early with an undisclosed injury.
Huddle Up: Purdy was unstoppable in the first half, but the wheels came off the Niners' offense in the second half and Purdy tossed a pair of picks in the process. On the Niners' last offensive drive of the game, Purdy came down with an injury that forced his early exit. With nothing to play for in Week 18, Purdy may sit, even if he's healthy enough to play. He'll be a QB2 option if he suits up.

San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy completed 26 of his 40 yards for 313 yards, two touchdowns and an interception, and he ran four times for 26 yards in a 29-17 loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 16.
Huddle Up: It has been an inconsistent stretch for Purdy, but he has topped 300 yards in two of his last three games. He is best viewed as a QB2.
