Minnesota Vikings RB Ty Chandler rushed for 17 yards and one touchdown on eight carries against the Detroit Lions in Week 16.

Minnesota Vikings RB Alexander Mattison (ankle) is expected to play in Week 16's game against the Detroit Lions, although he will not be playing at 100 percent, according to a source. As a result, it is likely that RB Ty Chandler will receive the bulk of the offensive snaps.
Huddle Up: Mattison had been listed as questionable on the injury report after logging just one limited practice session during the week. Since he won't see a normal workload, he should be viewed as a risky flex option in fantasy leagues this week if he receives clearance to play.

Minnesota Vikings RB Ty Chandler has three rushes of 20-plus yards in 72 carries this season while RB Alexander Mattison has one such run on 168 carries. Chandler has also scored on both his goal-to-go runs while Mattison has gone scoreless on 11 such carries while netting a total of one yard.
Huddle Up: With Mattison battling an ankle injury, Chandler could lead the Minnesota rushing in Week 16. Even if Mattison returns, Chandler has likely played his way into a steady role.

Minnesota Vikings RB Ty Chandler "is absolutely a guy that is going to see a featured role in our offense," head coach Kevin O'Connell said on Tuesday, Dec. 19.
Huddle Up: O'Connell added that he was uncertain who would start between Chandler and Alexander Mattison (ankle), but with the latter's status for Week 16 uncertain, Chandler is at least in line to take a lead role. But it's also feasible that the second-year back will keep the role upon Mattison's return, as the veteran hasn't come close to the kind of performance Chandler had in Week 15. If Mattison sits, Chandler is a flex option in a tough matchup against the Detroit Lions' top-10 run defense. If Mattison plays, both Vikings backs are shaky options, as it remains unclear exactly how the backfield workload would be divvied up.

Minnesota Vikings RB Ty Chandler rushed 12 times for 35 yards and caught three passes for seven yards in a 3-0 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 14.
Huddle Up: Chandler took over as the lead back after Alexander Mattison left with an ankle injury. If Mattison misses more time, Chandler could be a serviceable flex option as the No. 1 back in Minnesota.

Minnesota Vikings RB Ty Chandler ended up with four runs for eight yards in Week 12 against the Chicago Bears, while adding a 3-yard reception on his two targets.

Minnesota Vikings RB Ty Chandler rushed 10 times for 73 yards and caught four passes for 37 yards in a 21-20 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 11.
Huddle Up: The Vikings have struggled to establish a steady running game this season, and they could decide to give Chandler some more touches to try to bolster the attack. If nothing else, his involvement in the passing game makes him worth stashing in PPR formats.
