Atlanta Falcons fifth-round draft choice RB Tyler Allgeier signed a four-year contract with the Falcons Thursday, May 12. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Huddle Up: Allgeier has a good chance to earn playing time as a rookie since the team does not have much depth behind Cordarrelle Patterson. He could be at least No. 4 fantasy running back with a chance to be more valuable if he sees more playing time.

Atlanta Falcons RB Tyler Allgeier has a chance to be the team's opening day starter in 2022, in the opinion of ESPN's Michael Rothstein. ''So there will be opportunity for Allgeier to make an impact as a rookie. There is even a chance he ends up as the team's opening day starter in September because it's a room that's wide open. It would have been that even if Davis had remained on the roster,'' said Rothstein.
Huddle Up: A fifth-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft, Allgeier's opportunity grew following the release of veteran RB Mike Davis. With a wide-open depth chart in the backfield, Rothstein believes the rookie has a chance to make an impact right away. Allgeier still has to compete with Cordarrelle Patterson, Qadree Ollison, and Damien Williams, but his size and physical play style could win over the coaching staff. Likely a better value in non-PPR scoring formats, Allgeier is a Patterson handcuff stash to keep an eye on leading up to fantasy draft season with the chance to provide flex upside early in the season if he shows out during training camp.

Brigham Young RB Tyler Allgeier was selected by the Atlanta Falcons with the 151st overall selection with the 2022 NFL Draft.
Huddle Up: Allgeier will have a chance to earn a role in the running game since the team could use a back that can split playing time with Cordarrelle Patterson. Fantasy players should monitor his situation since he could be at least a No. 4 fantasy back if he receives a good amount of carries.
