Atlanta Falcons RB Tyler Allgeier will not be a bellcow in 2023, general manager Terry Fontenot hinted while at the NFL Scouting Combine last week. "He's a good player, you always need multiple at that position," Fontenot said. "Having one RB carry the ball all the time, that's kind of rare. You need to have multiple running backs to preserve their career... we love Tyler, but it's another position we have to always add to."
Huddle Up: Allgeier put together an impressive rookie season, with 1,035 yards on the ground, a yards per carry of 4.93 and three rushing scores. While that's all well and good, the NFL has been moving away from true bellcows in recent years, so this comes as zero surprise. That said, Allgeier will at least be a flex in 2023, as he's expected to lead Atlanta's backfield.

Atlanta Falcons RB Tyler Allgeier rushed 24 times for a game-high 135 yards in Week 18 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he wasn't targeted in the pass game.
Huddle Up: Allgeier really came on down the stretch, posting his first two 100-yard games in the NFL, and he scored twice in the final four outings, too. The former BYU star could be a decent low-end RB2 heading into 2023 in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams.
