New England Patriots WRs Javon Baker, Kendrick Bourne, Demario Douglas, K.J. Osborn and Ja'Lynn Polk appear to be locks to make the team's 53-man roster at the beginning of the regular season, according to Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald. A handful of other receivers, such as Kayshon Boutte, Jalen Reagor, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Tyquan Thornton are battling for one or two roster spots.
Huddle Up: Another roster spot could open up for a wide receiver if Bourne, who is recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, begins the 2024 season on the Physically Unable to Perform List. Douglas, Osborn and Baker are worthy of consideration as late-round fliers in fantasy drafts but none should be viewed as a weekly starting option.

New England Patriots WR Kayshon Boutte was arrested on a felony charge of computer fraud and a misdemeanor charge of underage gaming on Thursday, Jan. 25. Boutte allegedly made in upwards of 8,900 bets - some of which were placed using a fraudulent online gaming account while he was under 21 years of age and still in college. However, a source familiar with the case said Boutte never bet "against himself" and, therefore, did not throw a game. Arrangements were reportedly made for Boutte to be booked, post a $6,000 bond and be immediately released from prison.

WR DeVante Parker (knee), WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (ankle), WR Matthew Slater (groin), WR Tyquan Thornton (hamstring) and LB Ja'Whaun Bentley (knee) were limited in practice on Friday and are also listed as questionable. WR Kayshon Boutte (shoulder), WR Demario Douglas (concussion), DB Brenden Schooler (illness) and OT Tyrone Wheatley Jr. (knee) were not given practice designations on Friday but are expected to be available.
