New England Patriots WR DeMario Douglas "looked at home" working out of the slot this spring and was Drake Maye's favorite receiver in the final two practices of the late spring, according to Evan Lazar of the team's website.
Huddle Up: While it is notable that Stefon Diggs is still working his way back from last year's ACL tear and has not been fully involved in practices yet, the slot role has long been a featured part of offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels - such as Jakobi Meyers, Julian Edelman, and Wes Welker, to name a few. Douglas' ability to get open quickly has never been a question, even as Drake Maye noted last summer how Douglas reminded him of Josh Downs from their days together at North Carolina. It may be too much to ask Douglas to be a fantasy WR3 in 2025, but it is also not out of the question.

New England Patriots WR DeMario Douglas has "gotten better" and "picked up everything that we have asked him to do," according to head coach Mike Vrabel on Monday, June 9. "I love the person. I love his attitude. I love his spirit. He loves to practice. He loves to play this game; he loves football....He's gotten better....He's picked up everything that we've asked him to do," Vrabel told reporters during his Monday presser.
Huddle Up: The love affair seems to be mutual, as Douglas also told reporters on Monday that he loves Josh McDaniels' new offense, which has historically been quite friendly to slot receivers. While Efton Chism III has been the talk of camp so far in New England, Douglas is the prohibitive favorite to be the next slot machine in a McDaniels' offense - following in the footsteps of of Wes Welker, Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola, among others - if he can hold off Chism. Douglas has a great chance of being one of the best values in fantasy this season if he emerges as the primary slot option.

New England Patriots WR DeMario Douglas posted three receptions for 34 yards on four targets in Week 18 against the Buffalo Bills.
Huddle Up: In his second NFL season, Douglas ended up with new career highs of 66 receptions for 621 yards and three touchdowns on 87 targets. With QB Drake Maye and solid receivers like Douglas and Kayshon Boutte, the future isn't so bleak in Foxboro. Douglas could be a solid WR4 or flex fantasy option heading into 2025.

New England Patriots WR DeMario Douglas recorded four catches for 46 yards and a touchdown in the Week 17 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday, Dec. 28.
Huddle Up: The touchdown was Douglas' second in three weeks, but the 46 yards were disappointing considering the blowout situation. Douglas cannot be trusted in lineups moving forward.

New England Patriots WR Demario Douglas racked up four receptions for 33 yards on five targets in Week 15 against the Buffalo Bills, while adding a six-yard run on his only attempt.

New England Patriots WR Demario Douglas ended up with four receptions for 20 yards on four targets in Week 13 against the Indianapolis Colts.
Huddle Up: The catch total was nice, but he did next to nothing in terms of yardage. He has settled into that low-end WR4 or flex fantasy territory in leagues of 12 or more teams. The Patriots have a bye in Week 14.

New England Patriots WR DeMario Douglas (ankle) is officially active for the Week 13 game.
Huddle Up: Douglas has been one of the main options in the passing game for the Patriots this season and should see a good amount of targets again this week. He can be a possible flex option in all leagues.

New England Patriots WR DeMario Douglas (ankle) is expected to play in Week 13's game versus the Indianapolis Colts, according to a source.
Huddle Up: Douglas had been listed as questionable on the injury report after being a limited participant in all three of New England's practice sessions during the week. He has posted at least 50 receiving yards in each of the last three games and can be a flex option in deeper fantasy leagues.

New England Patriots WR DeMario Douglas (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 29, and is listed as questionable for Week 13.
Huddle Up: Douglas was a limited participant all week, so fantasy players can check the inactive list to see if he will be playing. He has posted at least 50 receiving yards in each of the last three games and can be a possible flex option in some deeper leagues.
