New England Patriots WR DeMario Douglas managed six receptions for 59 yards on a team-high nine targets in Week 5 against the Miami Dolphins.
Huddle Up: While Douglas easily led the way among New England pass catchers, the Patriots aerial attack is rather toothless right now. Douglas should be treated mostly as WR5 in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams, and perhaps if we see rookie QB Drake Maye at some point, things could change.

New England Patriots WR DeMario Douglas posted three catches for 13 yards on three targets in Week 4 against the San Francisco 49ers.

New England Patriots WR DeMario Douglas caught seven of his nine targets for 69 yards and rushed for nine yards in a 24-3 loss to the New York Jets in Week 3.
Huddle Up: He entered the game with just two receptions, but Douglas was the only member of the New England offense that had a decent showing Thursday night. Douglas is explosive and could be a flex option in deeper leagues, especially when the Patriots are facing a tough opponent and will likely be playing from behind.

New England Patriots WR DeMario Douglas registered two receptions for 12 yards on three targets in Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

New England Patriots WR DeMario Douglas "looked even better" during spring practices than he did last season, according to Chad Graff of The Athletic.
Huddle Up: Douglas was a bright spot for a lackluster New England offense last season, and he figures to be the team's most explosive weapon again in 2024. If the Patriots end up with decent quarterback play, Douglas could be a steal in the later rounds.

New England Patriots WRs Javon Baker, Kendrick Bourne, Demario Douglas, K.J. Osborn and Ja'Lynn Polk appear to be locks to make the team's 53-man roster at the beginning of the regular season, according to Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald. A handful of other receivers, such as Kayshon Boutte, Jalen Reagor, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Tyquan Thornton are battling for one or two roster spots.
Huddle Up: Another roster spot could open up for a wide receiver if Bourne, who is recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, begins the 2024 season on the Physically Unable to Perform List. Douglas, Osborn and Baker are worthy of consideration as late-round fliers in fantasy drafts but none should be viewed as a weekly starting option.

New England Patriots WR Demario Douglas reminds rookie quarterback Drake Maye of Josh Downs, who he played with at North Carolina. "Pop, he reminds me of a lot of ... Josh Downs. Can't guard him in a phone booth. Twitchy, speed ... I think those two things you cannot work on - speed and quickness. He has got them both," Maye told reporters on Tuesday, June 4.
Huddle Up: It is a good thing when the new franchise quarterback compares one of his receivers to a very good teammate he had in college. New England's depth chart at receiver features a lot of youth but does not have a clear leader yet. Douglas is as a good of a bet to lead the group in 2024 as any of them, and it helps that Maye has identified him as someone who can get open quickly. Keep Douglas in mind late in drafts.

New England Patriots WR Demario Douglas' 49 receptions in 2023 were the most ever by a rookie receiver under head coach Bill Belichick.
Huddle Up: Belichick won't be in New England next year, but the fact that Douglas was able to achieve such a rare level of production under Belichick speaks to the receivers upside. For a New England offense lacking playmakers, Douglas should have a significant role in 2024.

New England Patriots WR Demario Douglas rushed three times for 12 yards in Week 17 against the Buffalo Bills, while adding three receptions for 31 yards on five targets.
