Washington Football Team WR Logan Thomas posted four grabs for 37 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles on a team-high eight targets.
Huddle Up: Thomas, the former quarterback at Virginia Tech, made his presence felt. The touchdown and targets were nice, but fantasy owners will need to see a little more production over time before trusting him with a roster spot. Washington travels to meet the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2.

Washington Football Team TE Logan Thomas, a converted quarterback, is on the rise and in the hunt for the team's starting tight end job.
Huddle Up: Thomas managed 16 grabs for 173 yards and a touchdown in 2019 with the Detroit Lions. He will be competing with Marcus Baugh, Richard Rodgers, Jeremy Sprinkle and Hale Hentges for the primary job. If he can secure the starting job, and it's a big if, he would still only be worth a look as a TE2 in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams. Think of Thomas more as a bye-week replacement once the season gets rolling, if he can win and hang onto the job.

Washington Redskins TE Logan Thomas is expected to compete with Jeremy Sprinkle and Richard Rodgers for the starting job at tight end, but Kyle Stackpole of the team's website believes Thomas could be the frontrunner to win the job based on some of the feedback he has received from the new coaching staff.
'Logan Thomas is a guy that we see some glimpses of (Greg Olsen's) type of athletic ability. (Tight ends coach) Pete Hoener ... felt very strongly about this guy's abilities, mostly because he thought he was a very smart and savvy football player, he's a tremendous athlete and he's just learning and getting the position right now,' head coach Ron Rivera said.

Washington Redskins TE Logan Thomas has tight ends coach Pete Hoener excited about his smarts, savvy and athletic ability, according to head coach Ron Rivera Tuesday, April 7.
Huddle Up: Thomas caught 16 of 28 targets for 173 yards with the Detroit Lions last season. He'll compete with Jeremy Sprinkle and Richard Rodgers for playing time and targets in 2020. Whichever one wins the starting job could be in line for a good number of red-zone targets and will be worth streaming on occasion in standard fantasy formats.
