New Orleans saints QB Tyler Shough and QB Spencer Rattler are splitting snaps with the first-team offense during offseason workouts, according to head coach Kellen Moore.
Huddle Up: Shough probably is the leading candidate at this point, but Rattler has a chance to win the job if he performs well during training camp and preseason. Fantasy players can monitor the situation over the next few months, but neither is more than a No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore told reporters on Monday, May 19, that we will "give these guys (quarterbacks Spencer Rattler, Jake Haener, Tyler Shough and Hunter Dekkers) a bunch of opportunities" before adding help via trade or free agency. "Certainly, there (are) times where if the opportunity presents itself, you feel like it's a really good fit, you'd love to do it. We feel like we have some good guys here that can certainly mentor each other at the same time going through this process. ... We'll see how this whole thing progresses. The roster is a moving dynamic thing throughout the offseason process," Moore said.
Huddle Up: Derek Carr's recent retirement has left the team's young quarterbacks without a true veteran presence on the roster. Unfortunately for New Orleans, there is not much left at quarterback on the open market, with Tyler Huntley likely being the best of the bunch. Unless a decent veteran is cut during the preseason, the Saints will likely enter the season with the hope that Shough runs with the job and plays like a player who had seven years in college to prepare for this opportunity.

New Orleans Saints QBs Tyler Shough, Spencer Rattler, and Jake Haener will compete for the starting quarterback job, head coach Kellen Moore said Saturday, May 10, following the retirement of QB Derek Carr.
Huddle Up: Safely assume Shough, a 2025 second-rounder, will be granted the most flexibility in this battle. Regardless, the situation isn't too relevant for fantasy purposes in 2025. WR Chris Olave takes a little bit of a hit, and he already was risky to begin with. Consider TE Juwan Johnson a beneficiary of this group's inexperience.

New Orleans Saints QB Spencer Rattler went 26-for-42 for 240 yards and one touchdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 18. He also rushed for 11 yards on one carry during the game.
Huddle Up: There is a good chance that Derek Carr will not be with the Saints next season, so Rattler likely will have a chance to win the starting job. He threw three touchdowns and five interceptions in limited playing time this season and probably will only be a No. 2 quarterback in most leagues if he starts next season.

New Orleans Saints QB Spencer Rattler will start Week 18's game versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Huddle Up: Rattler will be making his sixth start of the season after QB Derek Carr (hand) missed all three of the Saints' practice sessions this week. He has not posted great numbers during his rookie campaign and is not a recommended fantasy option in any format.

New Orleans Saints QB Spencer Rattler connected on 20 of 36 attempts for 218 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions vs. the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 17 on Sunday, Dec. 29. He rushed for a team-high 46 yards on three carries, and Rattle was sacked thrice.
Huddle Up: The rookie flashes here and there but offers no fantasy utility in any format vs. a Tampa Bay defense that has everything on the line in Week 18.

New Orleans Saints QB Spencer Rattler completed 15-of-30 passes for 153 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Week 16 against the Green Bay Packers. He also ran five times for a team-best 28 yards with one fumble lost.
Huddle Up: Rattler should be nowhere near a fantasy roster at this time. With Derek Carr sidelined, the Saints are evaluating Rattler to see what they have for the future, and it doesn't look terribly promising.

New Orleans Saints QB Spencer Rattler will be the starting quarterback for the Week 16 game, according to interim head coach Darren Rizzi.
Huddle Up: Rattler replaced Jake Haener last week and finished the game with 135 yards and one touchdown. He will be facing a good Green Bay Packers defense in Week 16 and can be avoided in most fantasy leagues.

New Orleans Saints QB Spencer Rattler completed 10-of-21 passes for 135 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Week 15 against the Washington Commanders, replacing the benched QB Jake Haener.
Huddle Up: Rattler did a decent job leading a touchdown drive in the fourth quarter, and the team came up short going for two with no time left on the clock. He is likely to start in Week 16 on the road against the Green Bay Packers, but he isn't worth pursuing in most fantasy leagues at this point.

New Orleans Saints QB Spencer Rattler replaced QB Jake Haener as the starting quarterback during the Week 15 game.
Huddle Up: Rattler entered the game with Haener struggled and likely will continue to start while Derek Carr is sidelined. Fantasy players probably should avoid all of the Saints quarterback at this point.
