Cleveland Browns QBs Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders will not each get 25% of the reps during offseason work or training camp, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. "The big thing for us is making sure that we give the guys enough reps that they need. ... It is not going to be everybody getting 25% of these reps. That is not how it is going to be. We want to give everybody enough reps where we can learn more about them and prepare them to get ready to play," Stefanski told ESPN Cleveland.
Huddle Up: It is almost pointless to guess how the Browns will divide the reps in the offseason and preseason, but it makes sense that the 40-year-old Flacco will see limited reps until August since he should not need much time to get ready. Gabriel is almost certain to make the roster as a third-round pick, so he is the best bet to see the most reps, even if he is the most unlikely of the bunch to be named the starter. Sanders likely has an edge over Pickett entering training camp, but it appears both players will get ample opportunity to prove themselves.

Cleveland Browns QBs Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders are all possible candidates for the starting quarterback job this upcoming season, and the Browns want to have a fair and efficient competition for the job, according to The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot.
Huddle Up: Flacco may enter training camp as the leading candidate for the job, but there is no clear frontrunner in the competition. Fantasy players can monitor the situation during camp, but the winner of the job likely will only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

Cleveland Browns QB Shedeur Sanders' fall into the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft was addressed by SI.com's Albert Breer, who cited several factors in the slide. Breer highlighted one coaching staff intentionally planted mistakes in a drawn-up play that Sanders didn't catch. When called out on it, the Colorado prospect's response didn't sit well with the unnamed organization. Sanders also reportedly didn't take responsibility at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine when a coaching staff asked him about his on-field mistakes, leading to Sanders saying maybe the two parties weren't a good fit. Breer went on to mention that NFL executives simply didn't hold Sanders' ability in as high regard as the general public, and once the draft-day fall began, many possible suitors may have opted to pass on Sanders as a backup to avoid an ensuing media circus.

Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders was selected by the Cleveland Browns with the 144th overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Huddle Up: The Browns do not have a clear starting quarterback, so Sanders may be given the chance to compete with Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco for the job during training camp. He would be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in fantasy leagues if he wins the job.

University of Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders reportedly has a fan in Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, who reportedly "sees (Sanders') potential and is in favor of drafting him" if he is still available with the No. 21 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft next week, according to Sportskeeda's Tony Pauline.

Carolina Panthers president and general manager Dan Morgan told WFNZ's Mac & Bone in late February he doesn't expect to trade up in the 2025 NFL Draft but noted the franchise will be open to any opportunity with the No. 8 overall selection. The Athletic's Joe Person believes Carolina could be a prime trading partner for any team looking to move up for Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders, if he's still available with the eighth pick, as a it would position the prospective drafting team ahead of the New Orleans Saints' ninth selection. The Saints are reportedly interested in Sanders with the recent injury to QB Derek Carr (shoulder).
