Chicago Bears RB Kyle Monangai (knee) is considered "week-to-week" from his injury, according to head coach Ben Johnson.
Huddle Up: Monangai being out could give D'Andre Swift more touches early on in the season. When Monangai returns, it will be worth seeing how many more reps he gets in games, but for now, if he misses time, Swift becomes a fringe RB1 early on.

Chicago Bears RB Kyle Monangai (knee) is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks because of a hyperextended knee, according to a source.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation to see if Monangai will be ready for Week 1. He will likely share playing time with D'Andre Swift again this season and can be a No. 3 running back or flex option in fantasy leagues.

Updating a previous report, Chicago Bears RB Kyle Monangai (knee) is believed to be "fine" after initial tests showed his knee to be structurally sound, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Monangai will still undergo an MRI.
Huddle Up: Although Monangai isn't out of the woods just yet, the initial reports are encouraging. Assuming he avoided a serious, Monangai should be a flex option or RB3 as part of a two-headed monster in the Chicago backfield.

Chicago Bears RB Kyle Monangai (knee) suffered an apparent right knee injury in practice Sunday, Aug. 16, when he was tackled from behind by veteran DT Grady Jarrett. The team was not wearing pads, and Jarrett appeared to realize it mid-tackle, attempting to hold the back up. A trained tested Monangai's knee on the field, and he was helped off, but no cart was needed.
Huddle Up: Monangai appeared to walk off the field gingerly, but it appears he might have escaped a more serious ailment. We'll keep an eye on the situation, however. Monangai proved himself in his rookie season, and he is a valuable fantasy asset. As long as there are no setbacks, Monangai should be treated as a RB3 or flex fantasy option in most leagues of 12 or more teams. If D'Andre Swift were to suffer some sort of an injury in-season, Monangai would have some RB2 fantasy appeal.

Chicago Bears RB Kyle Monangai (leg) returned to practice Monday, Aug. 3, after dealing with a soft-tissue injury, according to head coach Ben Johnson.
Huddle Up: Monangai was the RB33 in PPR leagues last season after a 169-783-5 line on the ground. He'll be an RB3 again teaming iwth D'Andre Swift in the backfield. Roschon Johnson would become a handcuff option if either of the top two backs went down.

Chicago Bears RB Kyle Monangai (undisclosed) missed his third straight practice Saturday, Aug. 1.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players will need to keep an eye on the situation to see how long Monangai may be sidelined. He should see a good amount of work in 2026 like he did in last season and can be a No. 3 or No. 4 back in fantasy leagues.

Chicago Bears RB Kyle Monangai has rushed for a total of 79 yards on 22 carries over the last three games, including the playoffs, and he has gone six straight games without scoring a touchdown.
Huddle Up: After looking like a legitimate running mate to D'Andre Swift in the middle of the season, Monangai's usage has faded down the stretch. In fact, Chicago's running game has struggled in general recently, finishing with a season-low 65 rushing yards in the season finale and 93 yards in the playoff opener. Fantasy owners planning to use a Chicago running back this weekend should target Swift.

Chicago Bears RB Kyle Monangai rushed six times for 14 yards and caught one pass for 15 yards in a 19-16 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 18.
Huddle Up: The Bears ran just 18 times as a team after falling behind 16-0, so it wasn't a surprise to see him have limited touches. When the Chicago offense is humming, there are enough touches for both D'Andre Swift and Monangai, but for playoff contests, Swift is the safer of the two backs.
