Houston Texans WR Jaylin Noel will likely have a bigger role in the offense next season if the team does not re-sign impending free-agent WR Christian Kirk this offseason, in the opinion of TexansWire's Cole Thompson.

Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud completed 21 of 32 passes for 250 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in a 30-6 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wild Card Weekend. Stroud also fumbled five times, losing two. RB Woody Marks ran the ball 19 times for 112 yards and a touchdown. RB Nick Chubb had 10 carries for 48 yards. WR Christian Kirk tallied eight receptions (on nine targets) for 144 yards and a score. WR Jayden Higgins finished with three catches for 39 yards, and WR Xavier Hutchinson managed 21 yards on two grabs. WR Jaylin Noel was targeted once but did not have a catch. TE Dalton Schultz caught three of four targeted passes for 12 yards. S Jalen Pitre had a team-high seven tackles (five solo), including two tackles for loss. DT Sheldon Rankins had 1 1/2 sacks and a fumble recovery that he returned for a score. S Calen Bullock had three solo tackles and an interception that was taken back for a touchdown.

Houston Texans WR Jaylin Noel caught one pass for 13 yards in a Week 18 win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Houston Texans WRs Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel are likely to see increased offensive snaps in Week 18's game versus the Indianapolis Colts, as a result of WR Nico Collins (rest) being held out of action, in the opinion of NFL Network's Jane Slater.
Huddle Up: The Texans have already clinched the No. 4 seed in the AFC playoffs as winners of the AFC South, so there is little incentive for Houston to play their starters this afternoon. Higgins and Noel both scored touchdowns against the Chargers in Week 17 and have a favorable matchup against a Colts defense that will be missing CB Sauce Gardner (calf), making them worthy of consideration as potential flex options in deeper fantasy leagues.

Houston Texans WR Jaylin Noel caught three of his four targets for 54 yards and a touchdown in a 20-16 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 17.
Huddle Up: Noel had managed a total of four catches for 28 yards over his six previous games combined, so Saturday's solid performance was a bit of a surprise. In fact, it was just the third time this season that Noel has topped 35 receiving yards.

Houston Texans WR Jaylin Noel ended up with two receptions for 12 yards on two targets in Week 14 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Houston Texans WR Jaylin Noel had one catch for four yards in Week 12 against the Buffalo Bills.

Houston Texans WR Jaylin Noel ended up with a single 12-yard catch on his lone target in Week 11 against the Tennessee Titans.
Huddle Up: Noel's production has been a little bit erratic lately, going for four or more receptions in three of the past five games, but he also has one or zero catches in the other two games. That kind of erratic production makes him only worth fantasy consideration in deeper leagues and long-term dynasty formats.

Houston Texans WR Jaylin Noel caught four passes (on four targets) for 35 yards during the team's Week 10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Huddle Up: A week after being blanked against Denver, Noel finished fourth on the club in both receptions and receiving yards in the team's comeback win over Jacksonville. Of course, with Davis Mills playing in place of an injured C.J. Stroud (concussion), it's hard to read much of anything into individual performances on Sunday. As such, the outlook for Noel remains very much the same as it was a week ago with those in deeper leagues being the only ones that should worry about owning the rookie as depth that could provide some upside as the season wears on.

Houston Texans WR Jaylin Noel was not targeted against the Denver Broncos in Week 9.
Huddle Up: Coming off a three-game stretch in which he turned 16 targets into 11 catches, 153 yards, and a touchdown, the rookie was completely silent against the Broncos on Sunday. It's plausible that the in-game switch from C.J. Stroud (concussion) to Davis Mills had something to do with it, and, of course, the returns of Nico Collins and Christian Kirk were also factors, but it's disappointing to see Noel completely ignored. Those in deeper leagues should continue to hold onto Noel based on his strong play, but anyone that added him in standard formats can likely move on.
