Impending free-agent QB Carson Wentz (Vikings) is reportedly 'unlikely to be signing with the New York Jets as of now', according to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic on Wednesday, March 11.
Huddle Up: Wentz, the well-traveled nomad who has been on five teams in the last five seasons after the previous five in Philadelphia, will likely be looking to don his seventh different uniform in his career in 2026. It doesn't seem like that jersey will be a Jets one as of right now. Wentz started five games in 2025 for the Vikings, tossing eight touchdown passes and finishing with a 2-3 record. It's unlikely Wentz's seventh team in his career will be the one to give him fantasy relevance, so we can ignore him for now.

Minnesota Vikings QB Carson Wentz (shoulder) is scheduled to undergo season-ending surgery on his shoulder and was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Oct. 27.
Huddle Up: J.J. McCarthy should be the starting quarterback for the rest of the season with Wentz sidelined. He did not post great numbers when he played earlier in the season and should only be a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

Huddle Up: To say it was a tough night for Wentz would be an understatement. His left shoulder bothered him throughout the night, and he also hit his throwing hand on a helmet. Beyond the five sacks, he took a number of big hits shortly after releasing the ball. It'd be grossly unfair to pin Minnesota's Thursday night struggles on Wentz, but this will likely be his last start for the foreseeable future as J.J. McCarthy (ankle) is expected to be ready to return in Week 9. If you've been using Wentz as a stopgap, it's time to move on and find another option.
