Kansas City Chiefs RB Samaje Perine rushed five times for 14 yards and scored the go-ahead touchdown in a 17-10 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4.
Huddle Up: Perine has had a limited role the last two weeks, but the fact the he saw a touch near the goal line is worth noting. Throw in the fact that Carson Steele's role is in question following his second lost fumble, and Perine could be worth keeping an eye on.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Samaje Perine gained 25 yards on six carries in a Week 3 win over the Atlanta Falcons. He added three receptions for 15 yards. Perine was targeted four times.
Huddle Up: Perine was the complement to Carson Steele on Sunday night. The veteran is a reliable presence, particularly in the passing game, so he should continue to fill that role even when Kareem Hunt gets up to speed and Clyde Edwards-Helaire returns from the Non-Football Injury list. Perine is unlikely to get much work on early downs, though, which figures to keep his fantasy ceiling quite low. Maybe those in deeper leagues might want to take a look at Perine for depth purposes, but he's of no interest in standard formats.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Samaje Perine is expected to play in the season opener, according to head coach Andy Reid.
Huddle Up: He'll likely play second fiddle to Isiah Pacheco in the backfield as Clyde Edwards-Helaire is dealing with some personal stuff. Perine really shouldn't be in your lineups. His main value is to Pacheco owners for now.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Samaje Perine and WR JuJu Smith-Schuster "absolutely" could play in Week 1's game against the Baltimore Ravens, according to head coach Andy Reid.
Huddle Up: Even if they are declared active, neither Perine nor Smith-Schuster is likely to have much fantasy impact in any format, unless the Chiefs sustain a slew of injuries at offensive skill positions.

The team also waived/injured LB Durell Nchami (undisclosed) and released WR Tim Patrick, WR Lil'Jordan Humphrey, WR David Sills, RB Samaje Perine, FB Michael Burton, C Sam Mustipher and OG Calvin Throckmorton. LB Drew Sanders (Achilles) and S Delarrin Turner-Yell (knee) were placed on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list, while CB Damarri Mathis (ankle) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list but has been designated to return later this season.

Denver Broncos RB Javonte Williams could be competing with RB Samaje Perine for the final running back spot on the roster, in the opinion of Troy Renck of The Denver Post.
Huddle Up: Williams was expected to be in the mix for the starting role, so it would be a surprise if he was left on the roster all together. However, Renck points out the Williams struggled at the end of the last season and wasn't drafted by the current staff. If Williams is cut, Audric Estime could end being a steal for fantasy owners.
