In a post on his personal Twitter account Friday, Oct. 28, Kansas City Chiefs RB Ronald Jones wrote that he would "sure like a release right about now." He has been a healthy scratch for each of the team's first seven games of the season.
Huddle Up: Jones appears to be disappointed about a lack of playing time because he is currently listed behind RBs Isiah Pacheco, Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Jerick McKinnon on the Kansas City depth chart. Unless he winds up with a club that has a serious need at running back before the trade deadline, he will continue to possess zero fantasy value.

Kansas City Chiefs DE Mike Danna (calf) was limited in practice for a second consecutive day on Friday, Sept. 30, but has been ruled out for Week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. PK Harrison Butker (ankle) and DE Joshua Kaindoh (illness) did not practice Friday but are listed as questionable. WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (abdomen) was upgraded to a limited practice Friday and is also listed as questionable. WR Mecole Hardman (heel) was limited in practice for a second straight day but no longer appears on the injury report. DT Chris D. Jones (personal), RB Ronald Jones (illness), WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (shoulder) and OT Andrew Wylie (hip) practiced in full Friday and have also been removed from the injury report.

Kansas City Chiefs RBs Isiah Pacheco and Ronald Jones were efficient in the Thursday, Aug. 25, win over the Green Bay Packers. Pacheco rushed for 52 yards on 10 attempts, while Jones accounted for 43 yards on eight carries. Jones caught his lone target for four years, and Pacheco was not targeted.

Huddle Up: Pacheco has been a fantasy football darling of late, and this showing surely won't hurt his chances of rising in ADP over the final few weeks before the regular season kicks off. Jones is battling for a roster spot, according to some accounts, and it will be interesting to see if he survives the Aug. 30 final wave of cuts. Pacheco is a No. 5 fantasy back with potential for flex utility, depending on how starting RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire holds up. Jones is no better than a late-round gamble should he indeed make the cut.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Ronald Jones was taking reps with the third-team offense Thursday, Aug. 11. Meanwhile, Chiefs RBs Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Jerick McKinnon, and rookie Isiah Pacheco all rotated in with the first-team offense.

Huddle Up: Though the preseason games haven't started yet, Jones appears to be heading down the wrong path with drafts coming up. Given the emergence of Pacheco in recent weeks, Jones is a risky selection that managers may want to avoid for now until he begins gaining momentum on the depth chart.

Free-agent RB Ronald Jones (Buccaneers) reportedly agreed to terms on a one-year contract worth up to $5 million with the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday, March 26.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: This expected signing likely closes the door on Darrel Williams and Jerrick McKinnon in Kansas City. Jones gives the Chiefs more of a physical presence than Williams or McKinnon and someone that could conceivably work in a committee with Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Despite his well-documented foibles in the passing game and occasionally with ball security, KC would not be making this move unless it believed he could handle it. Jones should be viewed as a RB4 in drafts with RB2 upside if/when CEH misses time.
