Pittsburgh Steelers QB Mason Rudolph could be on 'borrowed time' with the return of QB Aaron Rodgers, and given the draft pick investment of QB Will Howard and rookie QB Drew Allar, the Steelers are unlikely to carry four quarterbacks, in the opinion of Joe Clark of Steelers Depot on Sunday, May 17.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $25 million on Saturday, May 16.

Free agent QB Aaron Rodgers (Steelers) agreed to a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday, May 16. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Huddle Up: Rodgers did not provide the spark to the Steelers' offense the way they had hoped, but 2026 will be round two. He can be used in two-quarterback leagues or deeper ones, but should be avoided otherwise.

Free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers (Steelers) is meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers Friday, May 8, and the two sides are expected to agree to a contract. The $15 million UFA tender is considered to be strictly a placeholder and not a ballpark of a contract.
Huddle Up: Rodgers is going to be a QB2 in fantasy if he plays in 2026. He'll likely be someone you can claim off waivers to use in good matchups.

Free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers (Steelers) and the rumors of him joining the Arizona Cardinals are apparently "not at all" real, according to Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com on Wednesday, May 6.
Huddle Up: Rodgers finished his worst full season as a starting quarterback from a fantasy perspective in 2025, finishing as fantasy's QB18. The counting stats from Rodgers still looked solid, with a 24-to-7 touchdown-to-interception ratio, but at age 42, his days of running with the football are pretty much over. If Rodgers plays in 2026, he'll be a waiver wire pickup in a good matchup, not as a weekly fantasy starter.

Free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers (Steelers) was courted on social media by Arizona Cardinals WR Kendrick Bourne, but Cardinals HC Mike LaFleur stated that the team is "focused on the guys we've got coming in", according to an interview with Jim Rome on Tuesday, May 5.

Free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers' (Steelers) decision to play in 2026 could have the patience of the Pittsburgh Steelers wearing thin, in the opinion of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac on Monday, May 4.

Free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers (Steelers) received a right-of-first-refusal tender Tuesday, April 28, which means he can accept a 10% raise off last year's salary, which would pay him about $15 million this season. It also means the Steelers can match any offer he signs with another team, and forbidding him the ability to sign with another team once training camp begins.
Huddle Up: Rodgers will be a QB2 in fantasy without a ton of upside in any instance he plays in 2026.

Free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers (Steelers) returning to the Pittsburgh Steelers is the most-likely scenario, according to former head coach Mike Tomlin.
Huddle Up: The team selected Penn State QB Drew Allar in the third round of the NFL Draft, and he'll join Will Howard and Mason Rudolph in the quarterback room. If Rodgers returns, he'll be a midrange QB2 and a matchup play in fantasy.

Free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers (Steelers) isn't likely to decide if he's returning to the Pittsburgh Steelers before the NFL Draft.
Huddle Up: Rodgers was the QB19 in 16 games last season in fantasy. If he returns, he'd merely be a matchup play or an option in two-QB leagues.
