New England Patriots TE Devin Asiasi has 'the catch radius of Austin (Hooper)' and the 'body control and awareness of Zach (Ertz),' according to California Strength CEO Dave Spitz, who is training Asiasi this spring after working with Hooper and Ertz in the past. 'I think (Asiasi) has more bend, more wiggle, than both of them. He's a beautiful combination. Plus he brings his own set of qualities. As a route-runner, he's just gonna be so difficult to defend at the next level. ... There's something that's incredibly special that pops right away. This kid just has another level of command of his body and of his awareness. I just can't wait to see what it translates to in the league,' Spitz said.
Huddle Up: Even former NFL tight end Logan Paulsen - who is working with Spitz - is on board with Asiasi's upside and believes he is "special." Tight ends are quite often poor investments as rookies, so fantasy owners would do well to keep an eye on his early progress and be ready to pounce if proves to be a quick study. While history suggests he faces long odds of doing much in 2020, the Patriots' offense has proven to be fantasy-friendly to tight ends when they have a worthy talent at the position.

New England Patriots TE Devin Asiasi may compete for the starting tight end job during training camp depending on how well he picks up the offense this offseason.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players should monitor Asiasi's progress during the preseason to see if he will have a solid role in the passing game. He has a chance to be a No. 2 fantasy tight end if he wins the starting job.

New England Patriots TE Devin Asiasi is one draft analyst's favorite picks of the third round, and that analyst says Asiasi has the skills to 'attack all three levels of the field' and has the opportunity to become QB Jarrett Stidham's security blanket.
Huddle Up: New England tight ends only combined for 37 receptions for 419 yards and two TDs last season, but don't be surprised if Asiasi eclipses those totals by himself in his rookie year with fellow third-round pick Dalton Keene serving as his main competition. Asiasi shouldn't be draft in most standard-size leagues, but he does have TE2 upside.

New England Patriots third-round pick Devin Asiasi is a big-play tight end that moves well for his size. He works well against zone coverages and shows ability to run solid routs and create separation. He has struggled with his weight in the past and could use blocking refinement.
Huddle Up: Asiasi could factor in as a TE2 in fantasy, but it might be a little early to project that with so much turnover on the roster.
