Updating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals QB Colt McCoy (undisclosed) had a "minor procedure" this offseason that he is rehabbing from, head coach Jonathan Gannon said on Thursday, Feb. 23.
Huddle Up: While he remains the backup in Arizona, McCoy is first in line to start if Kyler Murray (knee) isn't ready for the start of the 2023 campaign. The injury doesn't sound serious, so McCoy should be good to go, assuming there are no setbacks. Even if he does get the nod to start the season, McCoy won't be a suggested option, as he's a clear downgrade from Murray for Arizona's offense.

Arizona Cardinals QB Colt McCoy (undisclosed) will be limited during offseason workouts because of an undisclosed injury, according to owner Michael Bidwell.
Huddle Up: McCoy may open the 2023 season as the starter depending on Kyler Murray's recovery, so fantasy players can keep an eye on the situation for both quarterbacks. McCoy will be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he starts any games.

QB Colt McCoy (concussion) did not practice Friday, Dec. 30, and has also been ruled out. WR DeAndre Hopkins (knee) and CB Marco Wilson (neck) did not practice Friday and are listed as questionable. OT Kelvin Beachum (knee, ankle) and LB Tanner Vallejo (knee) were limited in practice Friday and are also listed as questionable. RB James Conner (illness), WR A.J. Green (illness), OG Max Garcia (shoulder), C Billy Price (knee), DB Charles Washington (chest) and CB Josh Jackson (hamstring) practiced in full Friday and have been removed from the injury report.

Arizona Cardinals QB Colt McCoy (concussion) experienced more concussion symptoms recently and will not play in Week 17 versus the Atlanta Falcons. David Blough will get the start instead.
Huddle Up: Blough just joined the team on Dec. 14, so this is not an ideal situation for him or any of Arizona's pass-catchers. The 27-year-old has made five starts in four NFL seasons, with all of them coming in place of an injured Matthew Stafford with the Detroit Lions in 2019. Fantasy managers cannot justify starting Blough even in two-quarterback or superflex leagues. It is debatable if it is even worth trusting the likes of DeAndre Hopkins in such a setup.

Huddle Up: McCoy likely will be cleared to play and will regain the starting job for the next two games. He has not played well since joining the starting lineup and can be avoided in fantasy leagues.
