Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin says he and QB Carson Wentz are "starting to build [a] really, really good personal relationship."
Huddle Up: Chemistry is among the most vital components of a good quarterback-wide receiver relationship and it appears the pair are moving in a good direction. McLaurin is just waiting to be unleashed with a good quarterback, something he has never had in his career. If Wentz, who has question marks of his own, turns out to be that guy, McLaurin has the potential to go from a high-end WR2 to an elite WR1 in 2022.

Updating a previous report, Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin received $34.6 million fully guaranteed at signing and another $12.5 million guaranteed in March 2023. The total guarantee is $53.154 million with a $28 million signing bonus. He has roster bonuses at the start of each year and $250,000 escalators each year except the final year based on Pro Bowl appearances.
Huddle Up: McLaurin was 25th in PPR points last season with a 77-1,053-5 line. There is a lot of room to grow from that, but he'll need Carson Wentz to be better than the makeshift QB situations he has had. He's a WR2 with WR1 potential in fantasy.

Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin reportedly agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension worth up to $71 million in new money Tuesday, June 28. The deal reportedly includes a $28 million signing bonus - the largest amount ever given to a receiver - according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Huddle Up: With this reported extension, the Commanders have taken care of their biggest potential on-field issue and secured one of the game's best receivers through the end of the 2025 season. While Carson Wentz is hardly an ideal solution at quarterback, he likely represents the best quarterback McLaurin has had entering his fourth season in Washington. McLaurin should be treated as a top-20 fantasy receiver who could legitimately finish inside the top 10 if Wentz plays up to his potential in 2022.

The Washington Commanders have "intensified their efforts" in contract talks with WR Terry McLaurin, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported on Thursday, June 16. "I'm told that Washington has intensified their efforts to try to get a long-term deal done with him," Fowler said. "He sat out minicamp. That sort of sparked more talks. They've sort of been upping their proposals... Nothing imminent yet, but this could get done even this week. Definitely before training camp is Washington's plan." Fowler also noted that the Commanders "value this guy in a big way."

Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin will not be traded, according to head coach Ron Rivera. McLaurin and the Commanders are reportedly "far apart" in contract talks, but Rivera did say he believes negotiations are "headed in the right direction." McLaurin is sitting out mandatory minicamp as he seeks a new deal.
Huddle Up: While we'd love to see McLaurin with a better signal-caller, it appears he's staying put for now. McLaurin is a rock-solid WR2 with WR1 upside if Washington can get better quarterback play out of Carson Wentz.

Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin will sit out of mandatory minicamp this week as he seeks a new contract.
Huddle Up: McLaurin will be missing repetitions with new quarterback Carson Wentz. That will hurt a bit, but he was a WR2 in the QB carousel last year and should be viewed the same this year.

Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin and the team are still "far apart" in negotiations on a new contract, per Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post. She also reported that McLaurin "seems unlikely to show for minicamp."
Huddle Up: McLaurin has been away from the team during voluntary OTAs, but he will have to show up for mandatory minicamp in order to avoid a fine. Hopefully, the contract issues get resolved soon as McLaurin is a WR2 with upside when he's on the field.

Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin has skipped the voluntary workouts this offseason, but head coach Ron Rivera said he expects McLaurin to report for the mandatory minicamp next week.
Huddle Up: McLaurin is looking for a new contract but probably will be with the team next week. He will be the focal point in the passing game for Washington again this season and can be a No. 2 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin and the team agreeing to a contract extension seems like it's inevitable based on the words of head coach Ron Rivera on Tuesday, May 24. "We've had communications with [McLaurin's representatives]," Rivera said. "We've been working with them. It's just a matter of time."

Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin was not present for the start of offseason workouts Monday, May 23, according to sources.
Huddle Up: McLaurin is looking for a new contract, so he may stay away from the team until training camp if the two sides do not make any progress in talks. McLaurin has been a reliable fantasy receiver since he entered the leagues and should be a weekly starting option in 2022.
