The Minnesota Vikings remain interested in signing QB Kirk Cousins (Achilles') to a contract extension, even though he sustained a torn Achilles' tendon in Week 8's game versus the Green Bay Packers which will cause him to miss the rest of the 2023 season, according to general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah.
Huddle Up: The 35-year-old Cousins had been experiencing one of the best seasons of his NFL career. He is expected to make a full recovery and could be able to participate in OTAs next spring. Jaren Hall will get the starting nod under center for Week 9's game against the Atlanta Falcons but does not have much fantasy appeal.

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins (Achilles) was confirmed to have torn his Achilles, according to sources Monday, Oct. 30.
Huddle Up: With Cousins done for the season, the Vikings are likely to lean on rookie Jaren Hall out of BYU. He's not an option for fantasy managers to lean on, and Cousins' absence likely means a downgrade for all Vikings players.

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins (Achilles') is feared to have torn his Achilles' tendon in the Week 8 game against the Green Bay Packers, a source said Sunday, Oct. 29. He'll have an MRI to confirm the initial diagnosis.
Huddle Up: If so, Cousins would obviously miss the remainder of the season. Jaren Hall came on and finished up the Week 8 victory against the Packers, and the former BYU product would presumably take over under center if Cousins is, indeed, going to miss the remainder of the season. Hall wouldn't have much in the way of fantasy appeal, however.

Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins is not expected to waive his no-trade clause and will remain with the team through the season, per sources Saturday, Oct. 14.
Huddle Up: Cousins will be a fringe QB1 without Justin Jefferson, but the pass-heavy attack should make him a viable starting option in fantasy.

Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins ended up completing 29-of-47 passes for 284 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions with three runs for five yards in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins has thrown multiple touchdown passes in all four games this season, and he has thrown for more than 340 yards three times.
Huddle Up: While the Vikings are sitting at 1-3 as a team, Cousins has been providing steady counting stats. He might not have the highest ceiling, but Cousins is a low-end QB1.
