New York Jets RB Breece Hall agreed to a three-year extension worth up to $45.75 million on Friday, May 8.
Huddle Up: Hall has cemented himself firmly in the RB2 rankings ahead of 2026. He will have a sprinkling of RB1 weeks and can be one of the better RB values this season.

New York Jets impending free-agent RB Breece Hall will receive the franchise tag after contract negotiations faltered.
Huddle Up: Hall was the RB21 in PPR leagues in 16 games last season, and he was a victim to a woeful offense last season. That could improve in 2026, but he'll still be an RB2 target in drafts.

New York Jets RB Breece Hall's representatives and the organization are continuing to actively negotiate a contract extension, according to multiple sources. Both sides would prefer to agree a long-term deal rather than use the franchise tag.
Huddle Up: Jets general manager Darren Moughey said last week that Hall would be tagged if an extension cannot be agreed upon by Tuesday, March 3. The 24-year-old had 1,515 all-purpose yards last year and can be viewed as a low-end RB1 or high-end RB2 option as he enters his age-25 season.

New York Jets impending free-agent RB Breece Hall will likely receive interest from the Denver Broncos if he hits the free-agent market, in the opinion of The Denver Post's Luca Evans.
Huddle Up: There is a good chance that Hall returns to the Jets, but he will receive interest from multiple teams if he becomes a free agent. He will start wherever he plays in 2026 and will be a weekly starting option in all fantasy leagues.

New York Jets general manager Darren Moughey announced that RB Breece Hall will be tagged if the team cannot reach an extension with him by the tag deadline of March 3.
Huddle Up: Hall returning to the Jets with a healthy offensive line could allow what was a promising 2025 season take a bigger step. Hall, right now, remains an RB2 but can be someone who gives you more consistent work in 2026 to emerge as an RB1 if healthy.

New York Jets RB Breece Hall would ideally be a candidate for a contract extension by the team, in the opinion of ESPN's Rich Cimini on Monday, Feb. 23.
Huddle Up: Hall put up his first 1,000-yard rushing season in 2025, his fourth season in the NFL. After a 2023 season in which Hall finished as the fantasy RB2, his receiving totals have cratered from 95 targets in 2023 down to just 48 targets last season. Despite the 1,065 yards Hall rushed for last season, he was just RB19 as Hall didn't separate from other backs with his receiving work, as he has in previous seasons. A new locale could do wonders for Hall and his future fantasy value, and he's still young as he's entering his age-25 season in 2026. Hall is valued as a high-end RB2 right now in early fantasy drafts, but he's a candidate to rise considerably up the rankings if he lands in a favorable destination in free agency.

New York Jets impending free-agent RB Breece Hall is hoping for a deal which makes him among the top-five paid at his position, but there are no indications the team is willing to come close to offering that. The franchise tag is projected to be $14.5 million, and that's a possibility, and the transition tag at $11.7 is also a good possibility. If he leaves via free agency, the Arizona Cardinals are seen as a potential landing spot, as they're coached by former Jets offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur.
Huddle Up: Hall rushed for a career-best 1,065 yards in 2025, the first 1,000-yard season of his career. His rushing touchdowns remained consistent with four scores, giving him at least four rushing touchdowns in each of his first four NFL campaigns. He will still only be 25 years old heading into 2026, and he had averaged 4.5 rushing yards per carry with 188 receptions across four seasons. If he lands in the right situation, or even ends up back in New York, he could still be a sneaky low-end RB1 in fantasy football in 2026.

New York Jets impending free-agent RB Breece Hall could have the transition tag applied to him this offseason, which would be worth approximately $11.7 million, according to multiple league sources. However, no final decision has been made by the Jets, who could also decide to use the franchise tag on Hall or sign him to a long-term contract extension.
Huddle Up: In 16 games last season, Hall had 1,415 all-purpose yards and five combined touchdowns. If he makes it into free agency, he will likely be one of the best options available, so fantasy owners should monitor this situation during the offseason. Regardless of where he's playing in 2026, Hall should be viewed as an RB2 option in fantasy leagues.

New York Jets impending free-agent RB Breece Hall may be a candidate for either the franchise tag or transition tag this offseason if the two sides are not able to reach an agreement on a new contract, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Rich Cimini.
Huddle Up: Hall will likely be one of the top options in free agency if he becomes available, so fantasy players will need to monitor the situation over the next several weeks. He will be a starter wherever he plays next season and will probably be a No. 2 running back in fantasy leagues.

New York Jets RB Breece Hall (knee) has been ruled out of the Week 18 game.
Huddle Up: Kene Nwangwu and Khalil Herbert may share playing time at running back this week with Hall unavailable. Fantasy players may want to look for other options and avoid all Jets running backs this week. Hall is scheduled to be entering free agency this offseason and should be a starting option for a team in 2026. He will likely be at least a No. 3 running back in leagues.
