Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith will not have any competition for the starting job next season, and QB Sam Howell knows he will be the backup, according to head coach Mike Macdonald.
Huddle Up: Smith will have to learn a new offense this offseason but still has one of the better receiver groups in the NFL. He probably should be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in most fantasy leagues and will not be in the starting lineup often.

Washington Commanders QB Sam Howell will start in Week 18, head coach Ron Rivera said on Wednesday, Jan. 3.
Huddle Up: Howell ranks as QB11 overall and has had a good second season, although his last four games have been rough, to say the least. Still, some of that can be attributed to a Commanders team has looked checked out for weeks now. Howell can't be trusted in lineups in Week 18 but should be held in dynasty formats.
