Houston Texans LB Christian Harris (calf) is making progress in recovery and appears to have a chance to return to the active roster after the team's Week 14 bye, according to sources.

Houston Texans LB Christian Harris (calf) will remain on injured reserve this week, and he will not be designated for return. "Not yet, I am still waiting on Christian," head coach DeMeco Ryans said Monday, Oct. 7. "He is improving. He is doing well."

Houston Texans LB Tarique Barnes, OG Dieter Eiselen, WR Johnny Johnson III, RB J.J. Taylor and OT Kilian Zierer were waived Tuesday, Aug. 27. The team also released OT Cameron Erving, OT Charlie Heck, LB Jacob Phillips and CB D'Angelo Ross. RB Jawhar Jordan (undisclosed) and DT Pheldarius Payne (hamstring) were waived/injured, placed DE Denico Autry on the Reserve/Suspended list, placed DE Dylan Horton (illness) on the Reserve/Non-Football Illness list, and placed Christian Harris (calf), DT Kurt Hinish (undisclosed) and S Brandon Hill (knee) on the Reserve/Injured list. Harris and Hinish have been designated to return later in the season.

Houston Texans DB Desmond King (groin), LB Christian Harris (calf) and TE Brevin Jordan returned to practice on Sunday, Aug. 11.
