Free-agent TE Zach Ertz (Commanders) is someone that the Washington Commanders would be open to bringing back for another season, according to ESPN.com's John Keim. However, it would probably take a pressing need due to an injury to another player on Washington's current roster before the Commanders would seriously entertain a reunion between the two sides.
Huddle Up: The 35-year-old Ertz had 50 receptions for 504 yards and four touchdowns over 13 games last season but sustained a torn anterior cruciate ligament in December. However, he plans to continue his career and is hopeful of being healthy enough to play in Week 1. If Ertz returns to Washington, he could be viewed as a TE2 option in most fantasy leagues.

Washington Commanders TE Zach Ertz (knee) intends to play in 2026 and is expected to be cleared by Week 1.
Huddle Up: He had a solid, 50-504-4 season in 13 games last year before suffering a torn ACL. He has 116 catches and 11 TDs over the last two seasons and will be a safety net with PPR upside as a TE2 in fantasy.

Washington Commanders impending free-agent TE Zach Ertz (knee) is recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament but does want to continue his playing career, according to a source. Ertz is not expected to return to the Commanders next season.
Huddle Up: Ertz played well before the injury, but it is not known when he will be ready to return to the field. He should receive interest from teams if he hits the free-agent market and will be at least a No. 2 tight end in leagues when he starts to play again.

Updating a previous report, Washington Commanders TE Zach Ertz (knee) suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament during the Week 14 game, according to head coach Dan Quinn.
Huddle Up: Ben Sinnott, John Bates and Colson Yankoff are candidates to see additional playing time with Ertz unavailable. None of the tight ends have more than eight receptions this season and can all be avoided in fantasy leagues.

Washington Commanders TE Zach Ertz (knee) left the Week 14 game against the Minnesota Vikings in the second half due to an apparent knee injury, and he was helped from the field before being carted to the locker room.
Huddle Up: Ertz's injury looked to be rather serious, and his right knee appeared to bend back the wrong way. It could be a rather serious injury for the veteran Ertz. We'll update when more details become available.

Huddle Up: Ertz is coming off his first 100-yard game of the season last week and has been targeted at least five times in six of the last seven games. He should see a good amount of targets in Week 14 and can be a low-end No. 1 tight end in some leagues.

Washington Commanders TE Zach Ertz collected 10 catches for 106 yards versus the Denver Broncos in Week 13. Ertz was targeted 13 times.
Huddle Up: Ertz had a very good game on Sunday night, but he fell short of greatness for fantasy owners with a flat-out drop of a would-be touchdown in overtime. Washington ended up scoring on the next play, though, so Ertz won't be vilified for it. Despite the drop, Ertz has emerged as a legitimate top 10 option at tight end after injuries (LaPorta, Kraft) and underperformances (Hockenson, Njoku) have thinned the position.
