Indianapolis Colts WR Josh Downs could see an increase in usage this season, according to general manager Chris Ballard. "I think allowing him some more opportunities, we're going to see some of the special stuff you've seen in the past, but more," Ballard said.
Huddle Up: Downs saw a dip in production last season, but the departure of Michael Pittman Jr. in free agency should open up more targets for Downs. A return to his 2024 numbers isn't out of the question, and Downs is positioned to be a viable flex option heading into 2026.

Indianapolis Colts WR Josh Downs caught four of four targets for 61 yards in a Week 18 loss to the Houston Texans.
Huddle Up: Downs had his season-highest receiving yards day of the season against the Texans, but with less than 10 yards per reception for the season and four touchdowns, Downs is nothing but an injury fill-in heading into 2026.

Indianapolis Colts WR Josh Downs went for two receptions and 34 yards on five targets in Week 17 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, while adding a punt return for no yardage.
Huddle Up: Downs really hasn't jelled very well with veteran Philip Rivers, connecting for 10 catches, 112 yards and one touchdown across three games. Downs and the Colts look to finish strong in Week 18 against the suffocating defense of the Houston Texans.

Indianapolis Colts WR Josh Downs had five catches for 65 yards against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 16. Downs was targeted a game-high nine times.
Huddle Up: Downs' short-area quickness and ability to work near the line of scrimmage make him a nice fit for Philip Rivers, who has no desire to hold the ball a long time. After scoring Indy's lone touchdown in Rivers' return from retirement last Sunday, Downs tied with Tyler Warren for most targets on Monday night. His overall production makes him a questionable choice for your Week 17 lineup, though his early chemistry with Rivers at least provides Downs with a puncher's chance at generating decent value from your flex slot.

Indianapolis Colts WR Josh Downs (non-injury) fully participated in practice Saturday, Dec. 20, and is not on the injury report for Week 16.
Huddle Up: Downs has been targeted at least five times in each of his last four games but has been held to under 25 yards in three of those games. He should see a handful of targets in Week 16 but can be avoided in most fantasy leagues.

Indianapolis Colts WR Josh Downs (personal) practiced in full on Friday, Dec. 19.
Huddle Up: Downs has been a prominent part of the Colts' passing attack but the injury to Daniel Jones and the playing of Philip Rivers has the entire offense trending down. You can avoid Downs in Week 16 in your fantasy lineups.

Indianapolis Colts WR Josh Downs (non-injury) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 18.
Huddle Up: There is a good chance that Downs returns to practice later in the week, so fantasy players can check on his status later in the week. He did catch a touchdown last week but finished the game with 13 yards. Downs should see a handful of targets this week but may only be a possible flex option in deeper leagues.
