Atlanta Falcons RBs Tyler Allgeier and Cordarrelle Patterson are expected to serve as the team's top two running backs to begin the season, according to ESPN.com's Michael Rothstein.
Huddle Up: Rothstein left Damien Williams off his 53-man roster projection. The initial plan likely has Patterson serving as the primary back on passing downs and mixing in on early downs, while Allgeier handles most of the early-down and short-yardage work. Patterson is unlikely to enjoy near the fantasy value with Marcus Mariota or Desmond Ridder that he did with Matt Ryan, but both backs could make up for it a bit on the ground considering both quarterbacks will make defenses respect them in the running game.

Free-agent RB/WR Cordarrelle Patterson (Falcons) reportedly agreed to terms on a two-year contract worth $10.5 million to return to the Atlanta Falcons on Saturday, March 19.
Huddle Up: Atlanta and head coach Arthur Smith were able to figure out how to use Patterson in his age-30 season last year and he rewarded the team with 1,166 yards from scrimmage and 11 total touchdowns as a running back/receiver combo platter. While the Falcons could add another body to the backfield in the draft, a return to Atlanta was probably best for Patterson's fantasy prospects. Although he is unlikely to match last year's touchdown efficiency, there's a good chance he will be the lead back in Atlanta and serve as a solid flex option at worst in fantasy in 2022.

Atlanta Falcons impending free-agent RB Cordarrelle Patterson is a player that owner Arthur Blank hopes to re-sign this offseason.
Huddle Up: Patterson was a productive player for most of the 2021 season but did finish the season on a cold streak. He will be involved in the running and passing game if he returns to the Falcons and can be considered a No. 3 running back in most fantasy leagues.

Atlanta Falcons RB/WR Cordarrelle Patterson has mutual interest in returning to the Falcons next season, and team owner Arthur Blank hopes to retain him.
Huddle Up: To do what he did at age 30 is borderline amazing. He had 618 rushing yards, 548 receiving yards and 11 total touchdowns - all career highs. He'll be an RB2 with some risk involved next year.

Atlanta Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson (non-injury) did not participate in practice Thursday, Jan. 6.
Huddle Up: Patterson has been struggling recently with under 60 total yards in each of the last four games. He should see a decent amount of touches this week but may only be a possible flex option in some leagues.

Atlanta Falcons WR/RB Cordarrelle Patterson rushed nine times for 28 yards, while adding two receptions for 24 yards on his two targets, in the Week 17 game against the Buffalo Bills.
Huddle Up: Patterson has had a surprisingly good season, but he didn't do much in this one in the snow and ice in Buffalo. He'll look to finish up strong in Week 18 against the visiting New Orleans Saints.
