Las Vegas Raiders sixth-round draft choice WR Tommy Mellott signed a four-year contract with the Raiders Thursday, May 8. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Las Vegas Raiders sixth-round draft choice QB/WR Tommy Mellott is a "unique guy" who the team views as an "athlete/receiver," according to college scouting director Brandon Yeargan.
'We view him as a receiver that's going to have a lot of value in the kicking game, potentially as a returner, as a cover player, maybe play some quarterback, too. We're looking (at him) really as an athlete/receiver, but he's a unique guy," Yeargan said.
Huddle Up: One general manager of another NFL team reportedly told Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal that Mellott is Julian Edelman. That is exceedingly high praise for a player who played mostly quarterback at FCS Montana State. With that said, Mellott is an incredible athlete who ran the 40-yard dash in 4.39 seconds, posted a 41-inch vertical jump and recorded a 10 feet, 4-inch broad jump. Mellott is probably too new to the receiver position to make an impact in redraft, but he should definitely be a target in dynasty leagues with rookies draft that last four or five rounds.

Montana State QB Tommy Mellott participated in a "30" visit with the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday, April 15. Mellott also worked out for the Dallas Cowboys last week and is expected to do likewise next week for the Washington Commanders.
