Philadelphia Eagles RB Wendell Smallwood was waived Saturday, Aug. 31.
Huddle Up: Smallwood could land in a situation to be worth an RB5 flyer early in the season. Keep tabs on him.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Wendell Smallwood had a strong offseason program and assistant head coach and running backs coach Duce Staley is excited about his role in the offense. 'I'm excited about Wendell. Like we talked about earlier, we have a great room, a great group, and they're all competitive, and they know they're competing against each other, which is awesome,' Staley said. 'Wendell's picked his game up during OTAs. We all know he can catch the ball out of the backfield. He's just getting better within the offense, learning our offense even more.'
Huddle Up: Smallwood will be looking to carve out his piece of the pie with Jordan Howard, Miles Sanders, Corey Clement, Josh Adams and others in the mix all looking to claim their stake in the Philly backfield. Smallwood is worth a late-round pick in PPR leagues at this point, but the backfield is just too crowded to expect much more.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Wendell Smallwood rushed 10 times for 33 yards while adding a catch for six yards in the NFC Divisional Round playoff game loss against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, Jan. 13.
Huddle Up: Smallwood had 11 touches to lead the Philly backfield, while Darren Sproles had six total touches. While he led the way in this one, Smallwood's fantasy outlook heading into 2019 is rather murky with Corey Clement likely back, and Darren Sproles perhaps in the picture again, too.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Wendell Smallwood (hand) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 4, and is not on the injury report for the Wild Card playoff game.
Huddle Up: Smallwood will be part of a committee at running back against the Chicago Bears. He should be involved in the running and passing game in the playoff game and could be a flex option in some fantasy leagues.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Wendell Smallwood (hand) was limited during practice Thursday, Jan. 3.
Huddle Up: Smallwood has received at least 10 carries in two of the last three games but likely will continue to share playing time with Josh Adams and Darren Sproles. He could be a flex option in some leagues but is not a must-start option.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Wendell Smallwood rushed 12 times for a team-best 53 yards and he added four grabs for 24 yards on four targets in Week 17 against the Washington Redskins.
Huddle Up: Smallwood, Josh Adams and Darren Sproles are each likely to work in a committee of backs for the Eagles in their wild-card game next weekend against the Chicago Bears. Smallwood isn't a bad low-cost DFS option for that playoff game.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Wendell Smallwood rushed 10 times for 48 yards and two touchdowns and caught two passes for nine yards in a 30-23 win over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 15.
Huddle Up: Smallwood saw a bump in action when Josh Adams left with an injury, but since Adams later returned, there is a good chance Smallwood won't be much of a factor in Week 16.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Wendell Smallwood ran twice for four yards while adding three grabs for 30 yards in the Week 10 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Huddle Up: Smallwood had five total touches for 34 total yards, Corey Clement had six touches for just eight total yards and Josh Adams was the winner of sorts, posting seven rushes for 47 yards. The backfield in Philly is a hodgepodge right now, and until someone steps up and takes the reins as the clear-cut option, all involved have minor fantasy appeal.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Wendell Smallwood caught two passes for 42 yards and one touchdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 8. He also rushed for 24 yards on eight carries during the game.
Huddle Up: Smallwood has been receiving a decent amount of touches over the last few games, but he could lose some work with Darren Sproles expected back soon. He can be owned in deeper leagues but will not be a weekly starting option.

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles RB Wendell Smallwood (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 25.
Huddle Up: Smallwood has received at least 10 touches in each of the last two games and likely will see a similar role this week. He will be facing a solid Jacksonville Jaguars defense and may only be a flex option in some deeper leagues.
