Chicago Bears RB D'Onta Foreman has been declared inactive for the Week 2 game.
Huddle Up: Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson probably will share playing time at running back this week. Both Herbert and Johnson can be flex options in fantasy leagues, but Johnson may have a bit more value in point-per-reception leagues.

Chicago Bears RB D'Onta Foreman said he came to Chicago to be "the guy" in the backfield. "If I didn't come here with that mentality, I would be doing myself a disservice," Foreman said. "That's just me being confident in myself and feeling like I could come in and be the guy. And also be a guy that people count on, and I can help us win. I didn't come here to take a back seat to anybody."
Huddle Up: Assuming Foreman inherits the role and the touches created by the departure of David Montgomery, he will be part of a committee with Khalil Herbert. Both Foreman and Herbert have shown they can thrive if allowed to lead a running game, but the upside of both players will be limited unless someone misses time.

Free-agent RB D'Onta Foreman (Panthers) agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Chicago Bears Thursday, March 16, worth $3 million, according to a source.
Huddle Up: Foreman probably will be sharing playing time with Khalil Herbert next season since both were productive in 2022. Foreman can be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues.

Carolina Panthers impending free-agent RB D'Onta Foreman is expected to receive interest from multiple teams if he hits the free-agent market, according to sources. The Panthers likely will try to re-sign Foreman this offseason.
Huddle Up: Foreman is coming off the best season of his career and likely will be able to find a starting job during free agency. He can be a No. 2 running back in most leagues depending on his situation.

Carolina Panthers running backs coach Duce Staley told reporters Friday, Feb. 24, that he believes in using three running backs because playing the position is still like being in "a car wreck." Chuba Hubbard, Raheem Blackshear and Spencer Brown are all under contract for 2023, while Staley noted Thursday that he believes it is important that Carolina re-signs D'Onta Foreman.
Huddle Up: Assuming the Panthers retain Foreman, fantasy managers can expect him to lead the backfield in touches. The problem with Foreman is that he will likely once again be heavily dependent on game script, and that assumes he is used the same as he was last year. Expect Carolina to draft a running back on Day 3 and have him rotate with Foreman and Hubbard in 2023. While Foreman could have some decent upside if he returns to Carolina, Staley's comments suggest he should viewed as a flex option at best.

Impending free-agent RB D'Onta Foreman (Panthers) is a player that new running backs coach Duce Staley believes is "important" to re-sign, according to Steve Reed of The Associated Press.
Huddle Up: Staley also emphasized to Reed that Foreman's return is not his decision to make. With that said, Carolina has enough other areas it needs to address that it cannot afford to spend valuable draft capital trying to replace Foreman when it should be able to bring him back at a reasonable cost. Foreman posted five 100-yard rushing efforts in 2022 - fourth-most in the league - but was a bit all-or-nothing from a fantasy perspective because he was so heavily dependent on game script. Assuming the Panthers take a step forward in 2023, Foreman could be a serviceable fantasy RB2.

Carolina Panthers RB D'Onta Foreman was ejected from the Week 18 game after an altercation with New Orleans Saints DE Marcus Davenport.
Huddle Up: Foreman will be a free agent this offseason, but the Panthers likely will try to keep him on the roster. He can be a No. 2 or No. 3 fantasy running back if he stays with the Panthers next season.

Carolina Panthers RB D'Onta Foreman (knee) is officially active for the Week 18 game.
Huddle Up: Foreman will continue to share playing time with Chuba Hubbard but should see a good amount of touches during the game. He can be a No. 2 running back or flex option in fantasy leagues.
