Atlanta Falcons RB Ito Smith rushed five times for 13 yards and a touchdown and caught three passes for 45 yards in a 22-10 preseason loss to the New York Jets Thursday, Aug. 15.
Huddle Up: Smith's versatility gives him the best chance to serve as the primary backup to Devonta Freeman, and given Freeman's recent injury history, Smith could be one of the more valuable handcuffs.

Atlanta Falcons RB Ito Smith is expected to have a more significant role in the offense next season, according to head coach Dan Quinn.
Huddle Up: Smith is in line to become the No. 2 running back for the Falcons will Tevin Coleman unlikely to receive. Smith had some success last season and probably will receive a handful of touches each game as long as Devonta Freeman can stay healthy. He can be a handcuff to Freeman in fantasy leagues or a No. 3 or No. 4 back in leagues.

Atlanta Falcons RB Ito Smith (knee) will undergo surgery this week and is being placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Dec. 17.
Huddle Up: Tevin Coleman will really be a featured back over the next two games with Smith out of the picture. He's a quality RB2 or flex option heading into championship week. Brian Hill should see a few more touches but he's a faint blip on the fantasy radar.

Atlanta Falcons RB Ito Smith ran for 34 yards on nine carries and added two receptions for five yards in Week 15 against the Arizona Cardinals.
Huddle Up: A week after being far more efficient than Tevin Coleman, the roles were reversed in a major way as the former exploded for 145 yards and a TD. Smith is best left in reserve in any championship matchups coming next week.

Atlanta Falcons RB Ito Smith (knee, neck) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 14, and is listed as questionable for Week 15.
Huddle Up: Smith is expected to play in Week 15 game, but owners should check the inactive list to determine his official status. He should see a handful of carries if he plays in the Week 15 game but probably is only a flex option in standard leagues.

Atlanta Falcons RB Ito Smith (neck) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Dec. 12.
Huddle Up: Smith led the backfield in touches, just edging out Tevin Coleman. The Falcons are out of the playoff hunt and seem to be leaning upon Smith more to see what they have in him, perhaps trying to decide between he and Coleman heading into 2019.

Atlanta Falcons RB Ito Smith rushed 11 times for 60 yards in Week 14 against the Green Bay Packers and he added three catches for 14 yards.
Huddle Up: Smith had 14 total touches to 11 touches for Tevin Coleman. Smith might be a sneaky RB3 or flex fantasy option down the stretch in deeper leagues. The Falcons host the Cardinals in Week 15.

Atlanta Falcons RB Ito Smith carry four times for zero yards during the team's loss to the New Orleans Saints on Thursday, Nov. 22. He had seven yards on two grabs as a receiver.
Huddle Up: There was some speculation that Smith would carve out a meaningful role for himself following the loss of Devonta Freeman, but that simply hasn't happened. Feel free to move on and hope for better luck with the next flier.

Atlanta Falcons RB Ito Smith rushed for 10 yards on six carries against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 11. He also caught two passes for 12 yards during the game.
Huddle Up: He has been held to under 20 yards in three of the last games and has only one touchdown during that span. He will still see some carries in the running game but can be avoided in most leagues.

Atlanta Falcons RB Ito Smith rushed for 11 yards on four carries against the Cleveland Browns in Week 10. He also caught four passes for 15 yards during the game.
Huddle Up: Smith did not see a lot of touches this week because the team was throwing the ball a lot since they were losing during most of the game. He could be considered a flex option in some standard leagues next week but is not a must-start option.
