San Francisco 49ers RB Jeff Wilson Jr. is the favorite over RBs Trey Sermon and Tyrion Davis-Price to be the No. 2 running back behind projected starter Elijah Mitchell, according to The Athletic's Matt Barrows.
Huddle Up: This doesn't come as much of a surprise after Sermon's lackluster rookie season. For now, Wilson is in line to be Mitchell's handcuff and could have standalone value as a flex some weeks in San Fran's run-heavy offense. He would be an RB2 if Mitchell gets hurt. As for Sermon, he's still a bench stash in dynasty leagues but won't have value in re-draft formats barring injuries.

San Francisco 49ers RB Jeff Wilson Jr. ran 14 times for 45 yards and a touchdown against the Tennessee Titans on Thursday, Dec. 23. He also caught three passes for 12 yards.
Huddle Up: With Elijah Mitchell still nursing a knee injury, Wilson made his third straight start. In terms of yardage, it was his least effective outing, though he did manage to find the end zone for a second consecutive game. Wilson's outlook for Week 16 will be heavily influenced by Mitchell's status -- and, perhaps to a lesser extent, by Trey Sermon, who is coming back from a knee issue of his own -- so keep an eye on that before determining what role, if any, Wilson can fill for your fantasy team.

San Francisco 49ers RB Jeff Wilson Jr. rushed 21 times for 110 yards and a touchdown and caught both of his targets for nine yards in a 31-13 win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15.
Huddle Up: Wilson again led the rushing attack in place of Elijah Mitchell and didn't disappoint. He now has 34 carries for 166 yards in the last two games, and if Mitchell remains sidelined, Wilson is a must-start option against the Titans in Week 16.
