Retired DE J.J. Watt recently told Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans that he would be willing to unretire and suit up for the team in 2024 if Ryans "absolutely needs it." Watt has continued to stay in playing shape since retiring at the end of the 2022 season but plans to scale back his training regimen in future years.

Recently retired DE J.J. Watt (Cardinals) reportedly has no interest in becoming a full-time coach anytime soon, according to Matt Young of the Houston Chronicle.

Watt posted five total stops, including three of the solo variety, with two sacks, three tackles for loss, a pass defensed and two quarterback hits in Week 18 against the San Francisco 49ers in his final professional game. Barring a change of heart, he wraps up his illustrious career with 114.5 total sacks in 151 NFL games, including five seasons with 10 or more sacks.

Arizona Cardinals DE Zach Allen (hand), WR Robbie Anderson (back), LB Zaven Collins (calf), CB Antonio Hamilton (hip) and CB Marco Wilson (neck) did not participate in practice Friday, Jan. 6, and have been ruled out for Week 18. LB Victor Dimukeje (illness) did not practice and is listed as questionable. DT Leki Fotu (shoulder), CB Josh Jackson (hamstring) and LB Tanner Vallejo (knee, wrist) were limited during practice and are listed as questionable. OT Kelvin Beachum (ankle, knee), C Billy Price (knee), LB Isaiah Simmons (ankle) and DE J.J. Watt (groin) fully participated in practice and are not on the injury report.

Arizona Cardinals DE J.J. Watt had a year added onto his contract on Thursday, Jan. 5, per ESPN's Field Yates. This allows the Cardinals to spread the dead cap from Watt's contract over the next two years.

Arizona Cardinals DE J.J. Watt posted a solo tackle, a sack, a tackle for loss and two quarterback hits in Week 17 against the Atlanta Falcons. Watt has 10.5 sacks through his 15 games this season. Watt will play his final game in Week 18 against the San Francisco 49ers after announcing he is retiring at the end of the season. It's the sixth time he has posted a double-digit sack total, and it's his first time accomplishing the feat since 2018.
