Oakland Raiders RB Doug Martin (undisclosed) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Sunday, Aug. 25. The move, however, is a precursor to an injury settlement, which will make him an unrestricted free agent. The injury is not believed to be serious.

Huddle Up: Martin, provided this injury truly isn't significant, will have a late chance to catch on with another team. His fantasy value remains low due to injuries and diminished skills. That said, Houston, here he comes???

Oakland Raiders RB Doug Martin is off to a strong start in training camp, according to Vic Tafur of The Athletic.

Huddle Up: Martin may have a little tread left on the tires, but with first-round pick Josh Jacobs expected to lead the Oakland backfield, Martin is no more than a fantasy handcuff.

Oakland Raiders RB Josh Jacobs is expected to be the team's primary back this season and see most of the opportunities on first and second down, in the opinion of NBC Sports Bay Area's Scott Bair, who writes that RB Doug Martin will be primarily used as injury protection rather than to spell Jacobs during games. RB Jalen Richard is expected to see opportunities on third down.

Huddle Up: Bair throws out 1,500 yards as "certainly possible" and 1,000 total yards as something that "should be a certainty" for Jacobs, though he raises questions about the rookie's ability to hold up to the type of high usage he wasn't asked to shoulder at Alabama. Jacobs is an RB2 for now, but don't be surprised if his name starts moving up drafts the closer we get to Week 1.

Free-agent RB Doug Martin (Raiders) agreed to terms with the Oakland Raiders Wednesday, May 1, according to sources. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: Martin likely will serve as the No. 2 running back for the Raiders with Isaiah Crowell out for the season. He probably will receive a handful of carries during games but can be avoided in fantasy leagues.

Oakland Raiders RB Doug Martin rushed 21 times for 100 yards and caught one pass for one yard in a 35-3 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 17. He also lost a fumble.

Huddle Up: Martin closed the year with back-to-back 100-yard efforts, and he was a serviceable back for Oakland after Marshawn Lynch was injured. However, he isn't currently under contract for 2019, and at his age, there is little chance he will be signed to be a lead back.

Oakland Raiders RB Doug Martin produced 107 rushing yards and a touchdown on 21 carries in the club's Week 16 victory Monday, Dec. 24, versus the Denver Broncos. He also added one catch for nine yards.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: Martin continued his 2018 resurgence with his first 100-yard performance on the ground in more than three years. Those who were shrewd enough to get his services when Marshawn Lynch went down have to be feeling pretty thankful right now. After logging his best game of the season, Martin will continue to be a viable RB2 in the finale.

Oakland Raiders RB Doug Martin rushed nine times for a team-high 39 yards in Week 15 against the Cincinnati Bengals, as his three-game touchdown streak was snapped.

Huddle Up: The Raiders got away from the run in the second half and his total touches ended up going down, too. He'll look to bounce back in Week 16 against the Denver Broncos on Monday night.

Oakland Raiders RB Doug Martin faces the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 15, and the Bengals have allowed the most rushing yards and second-most rushing touchdowns this season.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: Martin has logged double-digit carries in seven straight games, and while he hasn't been overly efficient with his touches, that could change in a big way against a porous Cincinnati defense. Bump him up into the RB2 mix this weekend.
