Former NFL LB K.J. Wright said he has joined the San Francisco 49ers coaching staff as an assistant linebackers coach and quality control coach.

Free-agent LB K.J. Wright (Raiders) announced his retirement from the NFL on Wednesday, July 27. Wright signed a one-day contract with the Seattle Seahawks in order to retire as a member of the team.

Free-agent LB K.J. Wright (Raiders) said he wants to finish his career with the Seattle Seahawks. "I love ball but I'm not willing to pick up and leave my family like I did last year [playing for the Raiders]," Wright said. "I'm not doing that again. So I think it's pretty well known where I stand... how I want to end my career. If it's not in Seattle, then I'll be all good."
