Houston Texans TE Darren Fells led the team with nine red-zone receptions and seven touchdowns in 2019. His 11 red-zone targets shared the team lead with WR DeAndre Hopkins.
Huddle Up: With Hopkins since traded to the Arizona Cardinals and the Texans' receiving corps overhauled with the additions of Brandin Cooks and Randall Cobb, Fells could gain a few more red-zone looks while helping to replace Hopkins. He's a late-round option at a thin position.

Houston Texans TE Darren Fells blew a block on 15 of his 296 snaps on rushing plays in 2019, according to Sports Info Solutions. The resulting 5.1 blown-block percentage was the second-worst mark by a tight end since at least 2015, while the 15 blown blocks were the most by any tight end over the same span.

Houston Texans TE Darren Fells agreed to a two-year, $7 million extension Tuesday, March 10. He'll earn $4 million in 2020.
Huddle Up: The soon-to-be 34-year-old had career highs with a 34-341-7 line in 2019, but it's hard to bank on that again. Fells might be someone to pick up off waivers if he looks to be in line for that size of a role again.

Houston Texans TE Darren Fells (hip) is expected to play in the Divisional Round game against the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday, Jan. 12.
Huddle Up: Fells was listed as questionable on the injury report after logging a limited practice session Friday, Jan. 10. He is not a recommended option for fantasy playoff games because he will be splitting time at the position this afternoon with Jordan Thomas.

Houston Texans TE Darren Fells caught two of his three targets for 23 yards and a touchdown in Week 13 versus the New England Patriots.
Huddle Up: Fells had a nice little run for about five weeks in October and early November, but this outing marked the first time in four games in which he had more than one reception. Houston has three tight ends it likes, which is going to make it difficult to trust any of them over a sustained period of time in fantasy. Owners should expect Fells to remain a touchdown-or-bust fantasy property in Week 14 against the Denver Broncos.

Houston Texans TE Darren Fells posted just one reception for 18 yards on three targets in Week 11 against the Baltimore Ravens.
Huddle Up: Fells had been fantasy find lately, but he is going to 'fall' down the fantasy rankings at his position heading into Week 12 against the Colts after this stinker. Treat him as a low-end TE2 heading into Thursday's action.

Houston Texans TE Darren Fells caught one pass for one yard and one touchdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 9. He was targeted three times during the game.
Huddle Up: Fells leads the team with six receiving touchdowns and has been targeted at least six times in three games this season. He has fantasy value because of his touchdown potential but is not a weekly starting option.

Houston Texans TE Darren Fells hauled in all six of his targets for 58 yards and two touchdowns in Week 8 versus the Oakland Raiders.
Huddle Up: It's not often a 33-year-old journeyman - especially a tight end known and signed for his blocking prowess - has a breakout year, but here we are. After scoring 10 times over his first five seasons with three different teams, Fells has scored all five of his touchdowns this season over the last six contests. Given the wasteland that is the tight end position in fantasy right now, owners would be wise to roll with the upside that Fells has shown moving forward, including in Week 9 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Houston Texans TE Darren Fells registered six receptions for a team-high 69 yards on seven targets in Week 6 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Huddle Up: Fells entered the game with just nine grabs for 90 yards across his first five outings, although he did visit the end zone twice in Week 5. He is slowly emerging as a dependable fantasy option, at least in deeper leagues. The Texans travel to meet the Colts in Week 7.
