Detroit Lions TE Sam LaPorta finished with four catches for 53 yards on four targets in Week 4 against the Seattle Seahawks.
Huddle Up: LaPorta has failed to pick up where he left off last season, and he has been limited to 12 receptions for 147 yards with no touchdowns on 14 targets. However, his yardage total was a season best, and perhaps he is snapping out of it. He entered with an ankle injury, and he'll have two full weeks to get back to 100 percent with the bye in Week 5.

Huddle Up: LaPorta is off to a slow start to the season but was on pace to smash his season-highs last week before getting hurt. His 2024 breakout game is coming and he remains a locked-in TE1.

Huddle Up: LaPorta won't play until Monday night this week but was a full practice participant Friday, Sept. 27, after being held out of action Thursday, Sept. 26. When healthy, he should be viewed as a starting option in all fantasy leagues.

Huddle Up: LaPorta appears to have a good chance to play in the Week 4 game, but fantasy players will know more after the final practice of the week. He should be a starting option in leagues if he is cleared to play.

Detroit Lions TE Sam LaPorta (ankle) did not practice on Thursday, Sept. 26.
Huddle Up: LaPorta is considered day-to-day as he deals with a sprained ankle. Fantasy football owners need to have a contingency plan in place if the tight end isn't cleared before games begin this weekend, as the Lions play on Monday night. Brock Wright is LaPorta's backup, and Chig Okonkwo and Noah Fant are other last-second options for fantasy owners to consider on Monday night. If LaPorta suits up, he's still a TE1 despite a slow start to the season.
