Detroit Lions TE Sam LaPorta caught two of his three targets for 28 yards in a 24-14 win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 9.
Huddle Up: Even with Jameson Williams serving a suspension, LaPorta had two catches or less for the fifth times in eight games. He's a low-end TE1.

Detroit Lions TE Sam LaPorta caught six passes for 48 yards and one touchdown against the Tennessee Titans in Week 8. He was targeted six times during the game.
Huddle Up: LaPorta is not posting the same numbers he did last season but does have a touchdown in two of the last three games. He should see a decent amount of targets next week and can be a No. 1 tight end in most leagues.

Detroit Lions TE Sam LaPorta caught one pass for 25 yards against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 7. He was targeted two times during the game.
Huddle Up: LaPorta has been limited to only two catches over the last two weeks but does have a touchdown during that span. He is not receiving a lot of targets during games but could still be a low-end No. 1 tight end in some deeper leagues.

Detroit Lions TE Sam LaPorta's lone reception was a 52-yard touchdown during a 47-9 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 6.
Huddle Up: LaPorta has yet to top four catches or 45 yards in a game this season. It is the kind of start to his season that managers were not expecting from a player who made five or more catches 10 times and exceeded 50 yards eight times during his historic rookie season. He remains firmly in the TE1 discussion, but he has proven to be much more boom-or-bust than he was as a rookie.

Detroit Lions TE Sam LaPorta finished with four catches for 53 yards on four targets in Week 4 against the Seattle Seahawks.
Huddle Up: LaPorta has failed to pick up where he left off last season, and he has been limited to 12 receptions for 147 yards with no touchdowns on 14 targets. However, his yardage total was a season best, and perhaps he is snapping out of it. He entered with an ankle injury, and he'll have two full weeks to get back to 100 percent with the bye in Week 5.

Detroit Lions TE Sam LaPorta (ankle) was a full participant in practice for a second straight day on Saturday, Sept. 28, and was removed from the injury report.
Huddle Up: LaPorta is off to a slow start to the season but was on pace to smash his season-highs last week before getting hurt. His 2024 breakout game is coming and he remains a locked-in TE1.

Detroit Lions C Frank Ragnow (pectoral) did not practice on Saturday, Sept. 28, and was ruled out for Week 4. Also, CB Ennis Rakestraw Jr. (hamstring) practiced in full but is questionable and DB Brian Branch (concussion), LS Hogan Hatten (shoulder), TE Sam LaPorta (ankle), DL Alim McNeill (shoulder), DL Levi Onwuzurike (knee) and OT Dan Skipper (ribs) practiced in full and carry no designation.

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell said that he expects TE Sam LaPorta (ankle) to play in Week 4's game versus the Seattle Seahawks.
Huddle Up: LaPorta won't play until Monday night this week but was a full practice participant Friday, Sept. 27, after being held out of action Thursday, Sept. 26. When healthy, he should be viewed as a starting option in all fantasy leagues.

Detroit Lions TE Sam LaPorta (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 27.
Huddle Up: LaPorta appears to have a good chance to play in the Week 4 game, but fantasy players will know more after the final practice of the week. He should be a starting option in leagues if he is cleared to play.
