New England Patriots WR Ja'Lynn Polk "has a chance to be the Patriots' No. 1 receiver in the season opener," according to Chad Graff of The Athletic on Friday, July 12.
Huddle Up: Polk, the No. 37 overall pick in the 2024 draft, has a wide-open depth chart ahead of him. The talented Washington product should be a solid possession/intermediate option for Patriots QBs Jacoby Brissett and Drake Maye. The offense might limit his ceiling, but there is WR3 upside if Polk finds himself at the top of the depth chart.

New England Patriots WR Ja'Lynn Polk has made steady progress throughout offseason activities, according to wide receivers coach Tyler Hughes. "He has a really great work ethic and a process that he sticks to every single day," Hughes said. "He's been good about that. I think his improvement has come from learning our system and playbook and how his skillset fits into that."

New England Patriots second-round draft choice WR Ja'Lynn Polk (Washington) signed a four-year contract worth a reported $9.694 million - including a $3.87 million signing bonus - on Thursday, June 13.
Huddle Up: Polk has been the talk of Patriots' camp so far and appears to be putting himself in a great position to be the team's third receiver at worst - second if Kendrick Bourne (ACL) is unable to start the season. While that may be great for his long-term dynasty prospects, he will be hard-pressed to be a regular fantasy contributor as a rookie in this offense.

New England Patriots WRs Javon Baker, Kendrick Bourne, Demario Douglas, K.J. Osborn and Ja'Lynn Polk appear to be locks to make the team's 53-man roster at the beginning of the regular season, according to Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald. A handful of other receivers, such as Kayshon Boutte, Jalen Reagor, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Tyquan Thornton are battling for one or two roster spots.
Huddle Up: Another roster spot could open up for a wide receiver if Bourne, who is recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, begins the 2024 season on the Physically Unable to Perform List. Douglas, Osborn and Baker are worthy of consideration as late-round fliers in fantasy drafts but none should be viewed as a weekly starting option.

New England Patriots QB Drake Maye has been working with WRs Ja'Lynn Polk and WR Javon Baker after practices during organized team activities so he can build better connections with both.
Huddle Up: Maye will be competing with for the starting job and would benefit from chemistry with his receivers. Maye probably will be a No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues if he is able to land the starting job.

Washington WR Ja'Lynn Polk was selected by the New England Patriots with the 37th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Huddle Up: Polk has a chance to earn a consistent role in the passing game this season with a strong training camp. He likely will see a handful of targets each game but will not be a starting fantasy option most week. He could be a No. 4 receiver in fantasy leagues.
