Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson is currently facing more than 20 civil lawsuits, but general manager Nick Caserio is refusing to get into specifics on the issue, Watson's future or the team's possible contingency plans at quarterback. 'I know (owner) Cal (McNair) ... put a letter out a few weeks ago, just relative to the organizational stance, relative to where we are. So I don't have anything to add other than it's a legal process,' Caserio said Friday, April 16 in a pre-draft news conference. 'We're respectful of the legal process and where that is. So we're focused on today. We're focused on getting ready for the offseason program and getting ready for the draft. So that's where our focus is.'
Huddle Up: It remains a quite-touchy wait-and-see situation all around regarding Watson's current situation, and the Texans do have some Plan B options in house in Tyrod Taylor and Ryan Finley. The Texans -- and everyone else -- will let the legal process play out and see what develops. Any more QB moves -- or lack of moves -- by the Texans could be a telling sign.

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson is 'very unlikely' to be traded with the legal situation swirling around him, according to sources.
Huddle Up: There's a very real possibility that Watson misses time in the 2021 season, and as preposterous as it sounds on the surface, he's an upside QB2 in early drafts.

If Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson can appropriately settle his current lawsuit and legal problems, the Philadelphia Eagles would be interested in pursuing a trade, according to a a league source Friday, April 9.
Huddle Up: There's obviously a long road to travel with Watson currently facing 22 civil lawsuits, potential criminal investigation and a possible league suspension, but it's also caused Watson's pricetag to drop in the meantime. Add Philly to the still lengthy mix of interested teams if and when the situation is ever resolved. Until then, it'll be second-year QB Jalen Hurts at the helm for the Eagles with veteran Joe Flacco serving as a backup, but the jury remains out on Hurts as a long-term QB solution.

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson received trade interest from the Carolina Panthers, but the Panthers decided to acquire QB Sam Darnold, according to sources.
Huddle Up: The Texans have said repeatedly that Watson will not be traded, so the Panthers added Darnold. Darnold should be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in leagues, while Watson will be a No. 1 quarterback if he plays in 2021.

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson has been accused of sexual assault by a massage therapist via a civil lawsuit, it was reported Thursday, March 18. The incident allegedly took place in December 2020. It is the third civil assault case filed against Watson this week.
Huddle Up: So far no criminal charges have been filed, but the trending pattern here is becoming disturbing. It adds another layer to the already tenuous situation Watson has in Houston and is something to definitely keep an eye on as the offseason progresses.

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson continues to seek a trade, but head coach David Culley said the team is committed to having Watson as their starting quarterback.
Huddle Up: The Texans continue to say they are not interested in trading Watson, but things could change around the NFL Draft. Watson will be one of the top quarterbacks no matter where he plays and will be a weekly starting option in fantasy leagues.

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson would lose a total of $20.213 million if he holds out for the entirety of the 2021 NFL season, including fines for skipping offseason programs, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk Saturday, Feb. 27.

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson is still 'off limits' as the Texans are informing interested teams. The Texans don't view free agency or the start of the NFL draft as a deadline for this situation.
Huddle Up: There is some concern that Watson could sit out if he's not traded. That will be a risk fantasy owners must weigh when selecting the top-five QB.

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson met with head coach David Culley last week and indicated that he has not changed his mind about being traded, according to sources. Watson told Culley that he has no intention to play for the Texans again.
Huddle Up: Watson has been looking for a trade for weeks, but the Texans have told teams he is not available. Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation to see if Watson will be playing for a new team or if he will sit out. He is a weekly starting option in all leagues when he plays.
