Updating previous reports, Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner revised his contract to a one-year, $2.355 million deal with $2.1 million guaranteed. It will carry a $4.83-million salary cap figure.
Huddle Up: The Cards signed Tyler Allgeier and still have Trey Benson, which makes Conner's outlook murky in his age-31 season. He'll be a depth back to handcuff to Allgeier later in drafts.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner has agreed to a revised contract for 2026. He was scheduled to have a $9.8 million salary cap hit in 2026, making $7.9 million. Terms of the restructured deal were not yet available, only that he agreed to the revision on Sunday, March 8.
Huddle Up: Conner started the season with a total of two touchdowns in the first two games, but he suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Week 3 against the San Francisco 49ers, and then it was a turnstile in the backfield for Arizona. Conner will be 31 years old by the time the regular season starts, and he has 110 NFL games under his belt in nine seasons with the Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers. There is a lot of mileage on that odometer. While fantasy managers will still want him for his scoring ability in 2026, make sure to have plenty of depth on hand at the position.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner could be a candidate to be released this offseason because the team would save more than $7.5 million if they let him go, in the opinion of CardsWire's Jess Root.
Huddle Up: Conner missed a majority of the season because of an injury but should be a starting running back for a team in 2026. Fantasy players can monitor the situation over the next month to see where he will be playing next season. He will likely be a No. 2 or No. 3 running back in fantasy leagues.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner was placed on injured reserve by the team on Tuesday, Sept. 23. There is no timetable for his return.
Huddle Up: Trey Benson is expected to step up in Conner's absence from the lineup. He becomes an RB2 or a flex option in your lineup with high potential to be something more with splash weeks.

Arizona Cardinals OT Kelvin Beachum (knee), RB James Conner (foot), CB Will Johnson (groin) and WR Zay Jones (concussion) did not participate in practice Monday, Sept. 22. OG Evan Brown (ankle), LB Akeem Davis-Gaither (elbow), CB Darren Hall (ankle), OG Will Hernandez (knee) and OT Paris Johnson Jr. (knee) were limited during practice. The Cardinals did not hold a practice Monday, so the injury report is an estimation.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner (foot) is scheduled to undergo surgery on the foot injury he suffered in Week 3 and will miss the rest of the season, according to head coach Jonathan Gannon.
Huddle Up: Trey Benson will likely receive most of the work at running back with Conner sidelined. He has had some success in limited playing time this season and can be a No. 2 running back or flex option in fantasy leagues.

Updating previous reports, Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner (ankle) could miss the rest of the season as he requires ankle surgery. Testing is still ongoing to determine the severity of the injury.
Huddle Up: Trey Benson should be the first in the pecking order. He had 10 carries for 42 yards and three receptions for nine yards in Week 3. If he's available, he's a must-add off of waivers. Emari Demarcado would be his handcuff, but the Cardinals are probably going to need to make a trade or snatch someone off another team's practice squad for depth.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner (ankle) was carted off the field after suffering an apparent ankle injury during the Week 3 game.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation to determine the severity of Conner's injury and how long he will be sidelined. Trey Benson will likely take over as the starter if Conner misses extended time and can be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner ran 11 times for 34 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers, and he added an 18-yard reception on his lone target.
Huddle Up: It was a disappointing showing for Conner, especially since it came against the Panthers, who were dead-last in rushing defense in 2024. At least Conner had the touchdown. He remains a solid RB2 in all fantasy leagues, and he'll look for the bounce back heading into Week 3 in San Francisco.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner faces the Carolina Panthers in Week 2, and the Panthers allowed 200 rushing yards and 6.3 yards per carry in Week 1.
Huddle Up: Conner appears to be ceding more touches to Trey Benson this season, and while both backs could have success against Carolina, Conner has the safer floor due to his role in the passing game and in short-yardage situations. Consider him a reliable RB2.
