Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner (foot) was placed on the reserve/injured list Sunday, Aug. 30, with a designation to return. He will be forced to miss a minimum of four games.
Huddle Up: With Conner out of the picture, rookie Jeremiyah Love is expected to serve as the top running back for the Cardinals, while Tyler Allgeier serves as the primary backup. It appears Bam Knight will be the RB3 for now, at least until Conner is healthy enough to return. Conner is still worth scooping up in the final rounds on draft day, especially if you have IR spots. However, it might take an injury or struggles by Love before Conner regains any fantasy relevance.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner's (foot) availability for Week 1 is uncertain at this point, according to head coach Mike LaFleur.
Huddle Up: Conner was in line for a small offensive role season since the team added two running backs this offseason, but it seems he may not be ready for the season. Jeremiyah Love should see a majority of snaps at running back and will be a weekly starting option when healthy. Tyler Allgeier should also see a decent amount of touches during games and can be a No. 4 or No. 5 running back in leagues.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner (foot) is still making progress in his recovery from a foot injury, but head coach Mike LaFluer said there is no timetable for when Conner will participate in team drills.
Huddle Up: Conner is part of a crowded backfield, so it is not known how he will be used in the offense when healthy. He seems to be behind Jeremiyah Love and Tyler Allgeier on the depth chart and can probably be avoided in most leagues at this point.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner (ankle) practiced Thursday, July 23.
Huddle Up: Now 31, he's behind Jeremiyah Love and Tyler Allgeier. It's hard to see him making the team and/or contributing at a fantasy-relevant level.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner (ankle, foot) should be available for the start of training camp, according to head coach Mike LaFleur.
Huddle Up: The Cardinals drafted Jeremiyah Love, but Conner could still have a solid role if the team does not think Love is ready for a full workload. Fantasy players should monitor his role during training camp because he can be a No. 3 or No. 4 fantasy back depending on the role.

Updating previous reports, Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner revised his contract to a one-year, $2.355 million deal with $2.1 million guaranteed. It will carry a $4.83-million salary cap figure.
Huddle Up: The Cards signed Tyler Allgeier and still have Trey Benson, which makes Conner's outlook murky in his age-31 season. He'll be a depth back to handcuff to Allgeier later in drafts.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner has agreed to a revised contract for 2026. He was scheduled to have a $9.8 million salary cap hit in 2026, making $7.9 million. Terms of the restructured deal were not yet available, only that he agreed to the revision on Sunday, March 8.
Huddle Up: Conner started the season with a total of two touchdowns in the first two games, but he suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Week 3 against the San Francisco 49ers, and then it was a turnstile in the backfield for Arizona. Conner will be 31 years old by the time the regular season starts, and he has 110 NFL games under his belt in nine seasons with the Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers. There is a lot of mileage on that odometer. While fantasy managers will still want him for his scoring ability in 2026, make sure to have plenty of depth on hand at the position.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner could be a candidate to be released this offseason because the team would save more than $7.5 million if they let him go, in the opinion of CardsWire's Jess Root.
Huddle Up: Conner missed a majority of the season because of an injury but should be a starting running back for a team in 2026. Fantasy players can monitor the situation over the next month to see where he will be playing next season. He will likely be a No. 2 or No. 3 running back in fantasy leagues.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner was placed on injured reserve by the team on Tuesday, Sept. 23. There is no timetable for his return.
Huddle Up: Trey Benson is expected to step up in Conner's absence from the lineup. He becomes an RB2 or a flex option in your lineup with high potential to be something more with splash weeks.

Arizona Cardinals OT Kelvin Beachum (knee), RB James Conner (foot), CB Will Johnson (groin) and WR Zay Jones (concussion) did not participate in practice Monday, Sept. 22. OG Evan Brown (ankle), LB Akeem Davis-Gaither (elbow), CB Darren Hall (ankle), OG Will Hernandez (knee) and OT Paris Johnson Jr. (knee) were limited during practice. The Cardinals did not hold a practice Monday, so the injury report is an estimation.
