Updating a previous report, the Jacksonville Jaguars acquired WR Calvin Ridley from the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for a conditional 2023 sixth-round pick and a conditional 2024 fourth-round pick Tuesday, Nov. 1. The pick in 2023 turns into a fifth-rounder if Ridley is reinstated past an undisclosed date. The conditions of the 2024 fourth-round pick turn the selection into a third-round pick if undisclosed play-time milestones are met, or it turns into a second-round pick if the Jaguars sign Ridley to a contract extension.

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley, who is currently serving an indefinite suspension for gambling, is reportedly on the verge of getting traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday, Nov. 1. According to sources via ESPN's Adam Schefter, the two teams are in the process of trying to finalize the trade before the league's deadline. The compensation going back to the Falcons is reportedly for a conditional 2023 fifth-round pick and a conditional 2024 fourth-round pick.
Huddle Up: While Ridley will not be able to help the Jaguars this season, it makes a ton of sense for them as it gives Trevor Lawrence a proven alpha receiver. This trade would also put Christian Kirk in a more comfortable complementary role as well. Considering how Atlanta has chosen to embrace the running game this season, dynasty managers of Ridley should be thrilled.

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley reportedly wagered more than the $1,500 he acknowledged on social media, instead gambling $3,900 over six bets placed on the Falcons, according to SportsHandle.com's Brett Smiley. He lost each one. The suspended receiver bet $100 twice on teams other than Atlanta, winning both for a total of $654. He made 33 additional wagers for a total of more than $32,000, profiting $2,744. Ridley's net loss across all bets placed was $1,186. 'This goes to the heart of the game and that's why they threw the book at him, kind of made an example of (Ridley),' Smiley told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Friday, March 11.

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley was close to being acquiring by the Philadelphia Eagles last month, but the Falcons backed out of the trade because of Ridley's suspension.

Huddle Up: It seems like Eagles will be aggressive in looking for a receiver to pair with DeVonta Smith. Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation to see who the Eagles will add this season. Smith is the only Eagles receiver that should be a weekly starting option in 2022.

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley was suspended by the league for at least the entirety of the 2022 season for betting on NFL games, according to a statement released by the league Monday, March 7. In the statement, commissioner Roger Goodell notes that the betting took place during a five-day period in late November of 2021 when Ridley was not with the team and on the non-football illness list dealing with his mental health. Per the statement, Ridley may petition for reinstatement on or after Feb. 15, 2023.

Huddle Up: Ridley may appeal his suspension, but this news obviously makes it highly unlikely he will play at all during the 2022 season. At this point, it is reasonable to assume his suspension could last much longer than that.

Updating an ongoing story, Atlanta Falcons general manager Terry Fontenot said there's no update about the status of WR Calvin Ridley, while speaking to the media at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday, March 1.

Huddle Up: The fantasy tip here is rather loose, because not knowing where he'll play leaves so much variance in value. If Ridley were to stay in Atlanta, and presuming his mental health issues are behind him, the fifth-year wideout is a WR2 candidate with No. 1 upside. He has WR1 talent, but there will be legitimate fear of him missing more time, which should drive down his draft stock.

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley is a player owner Arthur Blank would like to keep on the roster, but Blank said Ridley may want a fresh start with a new team. 'He has had a great history in Atlanta. We'd love him to stay in Atlanta. Whether or not he wants to do that -- he may decide that he wants a fresh start someplace else. We don't know that. I don't know that. I don't have information to indicate that, but we'll see how that plays out,' Blank said.

Huddle Up: Ridley missed most of the season because of his mental health, so it is not known if he will be ready to play in the 2022 season. He has posted terrific numbers since he has entered the NFL and can be a No. 2 fantasy receiver if he continues his career.

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley and the organization mutually could look to work out a trade, in the opinions of NFL Network's Steve Wyche and Mike Garafolo.

Huddle Up: Ridley missed most of the season after being placed on the Non-Football Injury list as he sought mental-health treatment. Wyche was an Atlanta scribe before joining NFL Network, so this is a situation to monitor.

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley (personal) is eligible to be activated from the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list this week, but head coach Arthur Smith told reporters Monday, Nov. 22, that he has no update on when Ridley will return to the team.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: Ridley has been away from the team since Week 7 as he continues to focus on his mental health. While his health is the most important thing to consider here, the Falcons' offense has suffered in his absence. Cordarrelle Patterson has managed to remain relevant given his contributions as a runner and receiver, but defenses have largely been able to take away Kyle Pitts with no other receiver on the roster capable of threatening them like Ridley can.

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley (undisclosed) was placed on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list Friday, Nov. 5. He will be sidelined for at least three weeks.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: Ridley has stepped away to focus on his mental health and there is no timetable for his return. Kyle Pitts and Cordarrelle Patterson will be the main options in the passing game, and both should be weekly starting options.
