Tennessee Titans WR Calvin Ridley will play "a very similar role to what Ja'Marr (Chase) played" in new head coach Brian Callahan's offense when he was the offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals.
Huddle Up: It comes as no surprise that Ridley is expected to become a featured part of Tennessee's offense with a new contract that averages $23 million per season in annual value, but there are enough differences between Chase and Ridley to suspect the Titans would use them differently. Assuming Callahan is being honest, fantasy managers should expect Ridley to run significantly more short and intermediate routes than he did last season. He should also see more usage out of the slot. It is great news for his current and future investors. As long as Will Levis is up to the task, Ridley could push for WR1 production in 2024.

Free-agent WR Calvin Ridley (Jaguars) agreed to terms on a four-year contact with the Tennessee Titans Wednesday, March 13, worth $92 million, according to sources. The deal includes $50 million in guaranteed money.
Huddle Up: Ridley will join DeAndre Hopkins as the main receivers in Tennessee for the foreseeable future. He should see a good amount of targets each game and can be at least a No. 3 receiver in most fantasy leagues.

Impending free-agent WR Calvin Ridley (Jaguars) is reportedly trying to decide if he wants to remain with the Jacksonville Jaguars or leave for the New England Patriots, according to sources.
Huddle Up: The implication here is that Ridley wants to return but Jacksonville is lukewarm on bringing him back - at least at the moment - while the lack of a quality quarterback in New England could be what is holding up a deal between Ridley joining the Patriots. The likelihood is that the Jaguars will ramp up their efforts to sign him on Wednesday when they will not be forced to give up a second-round pick to the Atlanta Falcons (per conditions of the teams' trade in 2022).

The Jacksonville Jaguars are still interested in impending free-agent WR Calvin Ridley even after agreeing to terms with WR Gabe Davis, a source said Monday, March 11.
Huddle Up: Ridley is garnering a lot of attention, especially from the New England Patriots. His landing spot has a lot to do with his potential fantasy value, but he can generally be considered a WR3 or flex option in most leagues heading into 2024.

The New England Patriots are expected to "swing big" on Jacksonville Jaguars impending free-agent WR Calvin Ridley if he hits the open market, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Sunday, March 10.

Jacksonville Jaguars impending free-agent WR Calvin Ridley appears to be on track to hit the free-agent market this offseason, and it is believed that some teams may be willing to pay him like a No. 1 receiver, according to sources.
Huddle Up: Ridley likely will be one of the top receivers if he makes free agency and should receive a nice payday from a team. He can be at least a No. 3 receiver in fantasy leagues next season.

The Jacksonville Jaguars would "very much" like to re-sign impending free-agent WR Calvin Ridley but he is expected to be seeking a "gaudy number," ESPN's Jeremy Fowler wrote on Sunday, March 3.

Impending free-agent WR Calvin Ridley "did some awfully good things" in his first season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but general manager Trent Baalke stopped short of guaranteeing Ridley would remain with the team in 2024 - although Baalke suggested the team will "work toward" it - on Thursday, Jan. 25. "When you bring in somebody in that hasn't been a part of football for over a year and a half, you (need to) knock the rust off. He did that and, at times, he showed who he was and what he used to and what he can be. The sky's the limit. He's only going to get better because of the way he works. When you love something as much as he loves football, you can't help but get better. We would love to have Calvin back. We are going to work toward that. What that means is, I don't know right now," Baalke said.
Huddle Up: There is a draft compensation element here (a third-round pick that becomes a second if he signs a long-term deal) that makes re-signing Ridley a slightly more difficult choice. With that said, it has been well established that offensive coordinator Press Taylor fell short of maximizing Ridley's talents. However, it speaks to the receiver's talent that he still had the season he did (76 catches for 1,016 yards and eight touchdowns). Ridley stands a great chance of being an alpha receiver again in 2024 - be it in Jacksonville or for another team.
