Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor led the league with 323 rushes last season, and the team wants to reduce his workload. "We definitely need to find ways to take some of that workload off him," running backs coach DeAndre Smith said. "If I can find another guy or two that can take some of those carries off, he's just going to be that much better."
Huddle Up: They have mentioned Seth McGowan and DJ Giddens becoming more involved, but neither of them are proven. Taylor was the RB2 in non-PPR and the RB4 in PPR leagues. He should still remain in the top five or six RBs in fantasy.

Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor is hoping for a contract extension, but the Colts have shown "little initiative" when it comes to contract discussions, according to Stephen Holder of ESPN.com.
Huddle Up: Taylor has been a workhorse for the Colts, rushing for 29 touchdowns and more than 3,000 yards over the past two seasons combined. Last year, he also chipped in a career-high 46 receptions. Regardless of his contract status, expect Taylor to be a high-floor RB1 in 2026.

Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor led the league with 323 carries and was one of 11 running backs to play in all 17 games last season. Head coach Shane Steichen said the team is aware of it and plan to use RBs Seth McGowan and DJ Giddens to supplement Taylor. "I think he led the league last year in carries, but talking to him after the season, he said he felt good," Steichen said. "But yeah, obviously he's a hell of a player. It's hard to take him off the field when he's running so good, but getting Seth (McGowan) in the fold and DJ (Giddens) and see how those guys come along in training camp, and we'll go from there."
Huddle Up: Taylor has 1,551 carries in the NFL and 926 carries in college. He's still just 27 years old and should remain a high-floor RB1. It would be a good idea to handcuff him to McGowan or Giddens, whichever flashes in camp.

Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor said he wants to spend his entire career with the Colts. He is entering the final year of his current contract.
Huddle Up: There is a good chance that Taylor receives a contract extension at some point before the regular season, so fantasy players can monitor the situation. He is a big part of the Colts offense and will be one of the first players selected in all fantasy drafts.

Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor did not participate in the voluntary workout Monday, June 1.
Huddle Up: Taylor should be on the field for the mandatory minicamp and will be a significant part of the Colts offense in 2026. He will be one of the first players taken in fantasy drafts and will be a weekly starting option in all leagues.

Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor scored 17 total touchdowns and averaged 6.0 yards per carry over the first 10 games of 2025, and he scored three total touchdowns and averaged 3.3 yards per carry over his final seven contests.
Huddle Up: The injury to Daniel Jones late in the year certainly impacted Taylor's production, but he isn't exactly young by running back standards, and he will be coming off a season where he handled 369 total touches. Throw in uncertainty about the Indianapolis quarterback situation in 2026, and Taylor could look a lot more like the volume-based fantasy producer that he was over the final weeks than the high-upside, explosive option that he was for the first 10 games.

Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor recorded a league-leading 787 rushing yards after contact this season.
Huddle Up: Taylor picked his fourth 1,000-yard season of his career this season and also led the NFL with 18 rushing touchdowns. He will continue to be a significant part of the offense next season and should be one of the first running backs selected in drafts.

Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor ran for 26 yards on 14 carries in a Week 18 loss to the Houston Texans. He had two catches for 13 yards.
Huddle Up: Taylor was arguably the MVP of Fantasy through Week 10 (1,139 rush yards, 17 TDs) before being limited to 446 yards and three touchdowns the last seven games - mostly without QB Daniel Jones. Taylor will turn 27 in two weeks but there's no reason to believe he's not a definite RB1 in 2026. However, it would be nice if Jones, a free agent, returns.

Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor rushed 21 times for 70 yards and a touchdown in Week 17 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and he racked up three receptions for 14 yards on six targets.
Huddle Up: Taylor let fantasy managers down a bit in what was likely the semifinals week of most leagues, going for just 2.9 yards per carry, 46 rushing yards and a TD in Week 16. He was a little better in this one, but he has averaged just 3.5 yards per game in the past four outings.

Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor carried the ball 16 times for 46 yards and a touchdown versus the San Francisco 49ers in Week 16. Taylor also caught three passes for 33 yards.
Huddle Up: With most running backs, getting 79 yards and a tuddie would be a decent return on investment. With someone like Taylor, however, it's a disappointment. The former Badger was having a monster season, but the injury to Daniel Jones (Achilles) has had a trickledown effect on the running game as he's averaged 3.5, 3.5, and 2.9 yards per carry in the last three games, respectively. He's still doing enough to remain in your lineup, though, so you'll just have to plug him in and hope he breaks an explosive run or two versus Jacksonville.
