Cleveland Browns WR Diontae Johnson was released Tuesday, Aug. 26.
Huddle Up: My how the mighty have fallen. Johnson had a 33-375-3 season with three different teams last year and couldn't make the Browns' roster. He's still just 29, and with proper motivation, could return to fantasy relevance.

Cleveland Browns WR Diontae Johnson had one reception for 12 yards in the preseason finale against the Los Angeles Rams Saturday, Aug. 23.
Huddle Up: Johnson is simply fighting for a roster spot, and even if the journeyman makes it with the Browns, or latches on with another organization, his fantasy value is rather negligible at this juncture.

Cleveland Browns WR Diontae Johnson is the "clear favorite" to be the starting slot receiver, according to Zac Jackson of The Athletic.
Huddle Up: Johnson has bounced between several teams over the last two seasons, but he did have some productive years in Pittsburgh early in his career. Jerry Jeudy is locked in as the No. 1 receiver, but Johnson could jump Cedric Tillman in the pecking order. Johnson could be worth a late-round pick in deeper leagues.

Updating previous reports, Cleveland Browns WR Diontae Johnson's one-year deal is for the veteran's minimum of $1.17 million and includes no guaranteed money.
Huddle Up: This is the epitome of a prove-it deal. He'll be 29 when the season starts, and he hasn't reached 1,000 yards since 2021. He'll likely be in the slot with chances to make plays, and he'll be a lottery ticket as a WR4 or WR5.

Free-agent WR Diontae Johnson (Ravens) officially signed an undisclosed contract with the Cleveland Browns on Monday, May 5.
Huddle Up: Johnson will likely compete for targets with Jerry Jeudy and Cedric Tillman this fall, assuming the same issues that made him a journeyman last year don't crop up again this season. While he will likely be used at all three receiver spots, Johnson makes the most sense as the primary slot option in three-wide sets. He could easily emerge as the alpha receiver in this offense, although it is fair to wonder if any of Cleveland's quarterbacks - outside of Joe Flacco - will be able to make him relevant in fantasy in 2025.

Free-agent WR Diontae Johnson (Ravens) agreed to terms with the Cleveland Browns Monday, April 28, according to sources. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Huddle Up: Johnson is coming off a disappointing 2024 season but has a chance to earn a solid role with the Browns. Fantasy players can monitor the situation because he could be a late round pick in fantasy drafts if he is involved in the Browns passing game.

Free-agent WR Diontae Johnson (Browns) recently met with the Cleveland Browns.
Huddle Up: Johnson played for three teams this past season and finished with only 375 yards and three touchdowns. It is not known if he will have a big role with his new team, so fantasy players may want to avoid him entering drafts.

Houston Texans WR Diontae Johnson was waived on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
Huddle Up: Johnson is moving on from his fourth team in less than a year. He must have worn out his welcome with or asked for his release from the Texans, who need help at the position with Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell both out for the season. There is little doubt he still has something left after what he did with the Carolina Panthers earlier this season, but he could be waiting a while to find a new home after being traded twice and waived twice in 10 months.

Houston Texans WR Diontae Johnson will continue to be fed in the offense, according to head coach DeMeco Ryans.
Huddle Up: He had two catches for 12 yards on four targets in the season finale. He'll be a suspect WR3 or flex option in playoff leagues.
