Washington Commanders WR Jahan Dotson and a 2025 fifth-round draft pick were traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a 2025 third-round draft pick and two seventh-round draft picks, according to sources Thursday, Aug. 22.
Huddle Up: Dotson's exit leaves room for rookie Luke McCaffrey to grow into a bigger role as a WR4/5 in fantasy. It likely dings the upside of rookie Jayden Daniels a bit, but he's still a fringe QB1 option given his rushing ability. Meanwhile, Terry McLaurin should get a nice bump in target share, making him a fringe WR2 and solid WR3 option in fantasy.

The Philadelphia Eagles acquired WR Jahan Dotson and a 2025 fifth-round draft pick from the Washington Commanders in exchange for a 2025 third-round draft pick and two seventh-round draft picks, according to sources Thursday, Aug. 22.
Huddle Up: This is a big blow to Dotson's fantasy value. While he joins a better offense, Dotson goes from being potentially second in the offense in targets to competing with the likes of AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, Saquon Barkley and Dallas Goedert for targets. Fantasy managers should consider Dotson a WR4/5 type unless there's an injury ahead of him on the depth chart.

Washington Commanders WR Jahan Dotson could be in a fight to keep his starting job after head coach Dan Quinn noted the team is in "the middle of its search" for a second receiver.
Huddle Up: Dotson played well into the second quarter of the team's preseason opener last weekend, which raised eyebrows. Quinn also noted that he has been impressed with Olamide Zaccheaus in camp when he was asked about the team's receiver options after Terry McLaurin. If this is truly how Washington feels, fantasy managers should expect a career year from McLaurin and a heavy dose of Austin Ekeler in the passing game.
