Buffalo Bills RB James Cook ranked third in the NFL with 1,567 yards from scrimmage in 2023 while ranking 10th among running backs with 281 total touches.
Huddle Up: Cook excelled in his second season, finishing fourth in the league in rushing and establishing himself as an every-down back. It would be nice to see him provide more production near the goal line, but Cook looks locked in as Buffalo's lead back and a RB1 heading into 2024.

Buffalo Bills RB James Cook ran 13 times for 36 yards and caught three of his four targets for 16 yards in Week 18 versus the Miami Dolphins.
Huddle Up: Cook became much more of a featured back in Buffalo's offense once Joe Brady replaced Ken Dorsey as the play-caller. However, it has to be slightly concerning that the second-year back's effectiveness declined dramatically over the last three games. As such, he will be hard to rank confidently in playoff leagues and in 2024 redraft formats. Consider him an upside RB2 option who could be asked to serve in a committee again with a more physical back next season.

Buffalo Bills RB James Cook surpassed 1,000 rushing yards for the year during the Week 16 game against the Los Angeles Chargers, becoming the first Buffalo running back to have a 1,000-yard season since RB LeSean McCoy in 2017.

Buffalo Bills RB James Cook (illness) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 21, and has been removed from the Week 16 injury report.
Huddle Up: Cook should be able to handle his normal workload after dealing with an illness earlier in the week. He is coming off an outstanding game last week and should be a starting option in all leagues.
