Tennessee Titans RBs Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears are expected to split the backfield workload in a "1A, 1B" situation, said offensive coordinator Nick Holz on Wednesday, April 10. "We see it 1A, 1B, and they're both just gonna play a ton, get a lot of carries and let 'em roll," Holz said.
Huddle Up: Who will be the 1A in this situation is up for debate. Both Pollard and Spears have proven to be explosive backs, but the overall split in the backfield may make it a moot point for fantasy managers. View both as high-end RB3 options until more clarity on the split is given.

Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan is unsure how the workload distribution will go between RBs Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears, he said on Monday, March 25.

Tennessee Titans RB Tyjae Spears finished the 2023 campaign with 435 rushing yards and 838 scrimmage yards, ranking fifth and fourth among rookie backs, respectively.
Huddle Up: Spears quietly had an impressive campaign despite the fact that he was working behind Derrick Henry and one of the worst offensive lines the NFL. Spears should have a bigger role in 2024, even if Derrick Henry returns, and with his ability as a rusher and pass-catcher he should return at least flex value with more touches.

Tennessee Titans RB Tyjae Spears has forced a broken or missed tackle on 24.2 percent of his 66 rush attempts this season, according to Sports Info Solutions. The mark is good for third in the league among all players with at least 50 carries.
Huddle Up: Spears showed off his ability in the receiving game on Monday night, but he has been exactly as advertised as a runner, too. Barring an injury to Derrick Henry, fantasy managers are unlikely to see all of what Spears has to offer in 2023. Given his role in the passing game, he is going to be at his best in fantasy when the Titans are in negative game script. The good news for his fantasy stock moving forward is that Tennessee has made seemingly little effort to extend Henry, which means there is a very good chance Spears will lead the backfield in 2024.

Tennessee Titans RB Tyjae Spears rushed seven times for 29 yards in Week 14 against the Miami Dolphins, while adding career highs with six receptions for 89 yards on eight targets.
Huddle Up: Spears has emerged as a RB3 or flex fantasy option in leagues of 12 or more teams, averaging 16.5 total touches in the past two games, with an average of 103.0 total scrimmage yards. While Derrick Henry isn't going anywhere, and he did have two rushing touchdowns, he isn't great catching the ball out of the backfield. There is a role for Spears, and lately he has been fulfilling it well. He is especially solid in PPR leagues if you need RB help, and he is still available off the waiver wire.
