Tampa Bay Buccaneers impending free-agent WR Mike Evans is still talking with the Buccaneers about a new contract but plans to test the free-agent market before he signs a contract, according to sources.
Huddle Up: Evans likely will receive interest from multiple teams if he hits the free-agent market, so fantasy players will need to monitor the situation. He will be a starter no matter where he signs this offseason and will be a weekly option in all fantasy leagues.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans is due to become an unrestricted free agent at the start of the new league year next month, but general manager Jason Licht made it clear on Tuesday, Feb. 27, that the team is "going to do whatever we can to make sure he's a Buc."
Huddle Up: With the league recently announcing the salary cap will take a $30 million hike in 2024, it certainly should increase Tampa Bay's chances of retaining the only receiver ever to begin his career with 10 straight 1,000-yard seasons. However, the change at offensive coordinator from Dave Canales to Liam Coen may result in a slight hit to his fantasy stock next season - assuming he is re-signed.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans and the team remain far apart in contract negotiations Monday, Feb. 19, where there's a soft deadline to get a deal done. The Buccaneers will incur $7.4 million in dead money if a deal isn't struck Monday, and Evans is leaning toward free agency.
Huddle Up: Evans was the WR7 in PPR leagues at age 30. He'll be a good WR2 target with some regression expected in 2024.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers impending free-agent WR Mike Evans is not expected to receive the franchise tag this offseason since it would be $28.4 million based on his 2023 salary, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Huddle Up: The Buccaneers have around a month to sign Evans to a new contract, so fantasy players can keep an eye on the situation. Evans will be a starter no matter where he plays in 2024 and likely will be a weekly starting option in fantasy leagues.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers impending free-agent WR Mike Evans is expected to land a contract that pays between $25 to $30 million a year, according to reports.
Huddle Up: Evans has been the model of consistency throughout his career, topping 1,000 yards in each of his 10 seasons. He has 94 touchdowns in that span, scoring 13 or more times in three of the last four years. Wherever he plays in 2024, Evans should be the No. 1 option and a WR1 candidate for fantasy owners.
